Jan Da Souza shoots Donnie dead in MobLand Season 2 Episode 6, but her decision to take revenge on the man who deceived her could drag her straight back into Harry’s criminal world. After spending much of the season trying to establish an independent life, Jan takes matters into her own hands and discovers that one impulsive decision can leave her with more problems than answers.

MobLand Season 2 Episode 5 saw the Harrigans flee their Cotswolds estate after Frankie Cooper’s attack, while Harry rushed to rescue Gina and Eddie from Medusa in Ireland. Meanwhile, Jan grew suspicious of Donnie after finding Seraphina’s missed calls on his phone. She ignored Harry’s warning that Donnie was working for Kat McAllister, setting the stage for a bloody reckoning in Episode 6.
Frankie’s Attack Leaves the Harrigans With Nowhere to Hide
Credit:- Paramount+Frankie wastes no time making his presence felt, entering the Harrigans’ abandoned home to pay his respects to JoJo’s body before killing Conrad’s dogs. The brutal warning makes clear that even fleeing the Cotswolds won’t keep their enemies at bay. The Harrigans flee to Mallorca, where Seraphina’s biological mother, Priyanka, and stepfather, Charlton Gibber, shelter them. Seraphina claims she switched sides after learning Frankie planned to massacre the family.
I’m not convinced she deserves their full trust. Her actions helped them escape, but her history of playing both sides invites suspicion. Harry believes she chose the Harrigans and urges Conrad to consider her a potential heir, but whether that faith is warranted remains unclear.
Harry Finally Draws a Line With Maeve
Credit: Paramount+Maeve’s schemes continue to create trouble for everyone around her. She sent Eddie and Gina to Ireland to kill Medusa, apparently hoping to test whether they had the nerve to become serious players in the Harrigan organisation. Harry arrived in time to save them, but he now knows how recklessly Maeve treated his daughter’s life. When Maeve confronts Eddie about the mission, he lies about killing Medusa. She recognises the fabrication, exposing how far Eddie’s gangster posturing remains from actual competence. Harry then warns Maeve that if she puts Gina in mortal danger again, he will kill her.
Harry’s threat is unusually direct, and his conversation with Gina reveals why: he has spent years cleaning up the Harrigans’ messes, but he won’t sacrifice his daughter for their empire. Unlike him, she gets to choose whether to enter the criminal world. Conrad, meanwhile, rejects Seraphina’s proposed alliance with Charlton, determined to rebuild the Harrigan empire alone despite mounting threats. Pride remains his greatest weakness; he would rather risk ruin than surrender control.
Why Does Jan Kill Donnie in MobLand Season 2 Episode 6?
Credit: Paramount+Jan’s storyline delivers the episode’s most consequential turn. After discovering that Donnie has been using their relationship to get close to Harry, she begins to understand how thoroughly she has been manipulated. Harry tries to protect her by arranging for Zosia and her men to take her to a safe house, but Jan interprets the intervention as another attempt to control her life.
Jan threatens suicide if Harry sends anyone to her home, forcing him to call off the plan. Zosia spots Donnie approaching Jan’s house, but he escapes. He later asks Jan to meet him at a pub. She agrees, then heads to his house instead. When Donnie returns, Jan emerges from the shadows and shoots him in the neck. But why take the risk herself when Harry has the means to deal with him?
Jan’s humiliation may explain her actions. Her relationship with Donnie was a chance to make her own choices, and discovering he had played her means Harry was right all along. She wanted to believe Donnie cared, leaving her furious with him, Harry, and perhaps herself. Killing Donnie gives her a fleeting sense of control, but he was tied to Kat’s operation. The shock on Jan’s face suggests she is already grappling with the consequences.
Jan May Have Escaped Donnie, but Can She Escape Harry?
Credit: Paramount+Jan’s decision could be the very thing that binds her to Harry again. She has explicitly told him to stay away, even threatening suicide to prevent him from sending help, but she now has a murder to conceal and no obvious way to manage the consequences alone. Donnie’s death also creates a serious problem for the Harrigans. He was connected to Kat and had been using Jan to gather information on Harry, so his killing could provoke retaliation at a time when the family is already struggling to recover from Frankie’s attack. If Kat discovers who killed him, Jan could become a target herself.
I have mixed feelings about Jan’s decision. Her anger is justified, but shooting Donnie at home could cost her the independence she wants. She has escaped one trap only to stumble into another. Will Harry respect her wishes or step in when things fall apart? Given their history, I doubt he’ll leave her to face the consequences alone. Did Jan reclaim her freedom or make herself more dependent on Harry? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow FandomWire for more recaps and ending explainers.
