Amanda Seyfried revealed that she passed up on a starring role in a new show due to the fact that it required filming a lot of sex scenes, something she says she’s “not into” anymore.

Speaking at a panel hosted by Alec Baldwin at the Hamptons International Film Festival in East Hampton, New York, Oct. 4, Seyfried noted, per People: “I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex.”

“I don’t wanna do it. I’m uncomfortable with it. I’m not into it right now,” she added.

The actress, 40, told Baldwin that sex scenes used to be “a non-thing” for her. “It was like, ‘I get to make out with a hot person today … And they’re paying me.'”

However, Seyfried related, “I have kids now who are paying attention to what I do,”

Seyfried, who shares daughter Nina, 9, and son, Thomas, 6, with estranged husband Thomas Sadoski, said that maybe if the project came along at a later time, she might have a different mindset on it. But for right now, “I don’t wanna deal with being naked with a stranger.”

“As I get older, it gets weirder,” she explained of such acting roles. “We have to be romantic with people that we’re not romantic with.”

Seyfried can afford to be picky about what what projects she takes on, having no apparent problem nailing down work of late. She appeared in two films, “The Testament of Ann Lee” and “The Housemaid,” and one TV series, Peacock’s “Long Bright River,” last year.

She and Sadoski announced their split last month after nine years of marriage, confirming the news at the time in a statement to People.

“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever — and it’s GOOD,” they shared.

The pair first met in 2015, when they starred together in the off-Broadway play “The Way We Get By.” They also co-starred in the 2017 film “The Last Word.”

Back in November 2025, the “Mamma Mia!” star admitted it was “really hard” to balance raising their two children with her acting career.

“This is the most I’ve ever worked with two kids, and I’ve never had two movies come out at the same time,” she told Us Weekly, adding, “I’m a little bit bananas right now.”
