Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains spoilers from Demon Slayer manga.
In Demon Slayer, some fighters have powers that go far beyond normal sword skills. They can gain demonic strength, hide their fighting spirit, or use deadly techniques that even the strongest demons fear.
However, not every ability is equally powerful. While some give fighters a small advantage, others can change the course of an entire battle. With that said, these are six of the rarest and strongest abilities in Demon Slayer, ranked by their combat ability.
6 Genya’s Demon Assimilation Gives Him Demonic Powers

Rather, he has the unusual ability to acquire demonic strengths temporarily by eating demon flesh. These include physical strength and the ability to heal rapidly for a limited time.
Genya shows how useful this power can be during the Swordsmith Village Arc, especially in his fight against Hantengu. Later, during the Infinity Castle Arc, he gains even more power by eating parts of Kokushibo. Still, this ability has limits, as Genya needs demon flesh to use it. That makes it less reliable than the stronger abilities on this list.
5 Nezuko’s Exploding Blood Can Burn Demons

It allows her to turn her blood into flames that can burn demons and their powers without harming humans in the same way. She first shows this ability during her fight against Rui in Season 1, when her flames burn through his deadly threads.
Later, she also uses her flames to burn away demonic poison and help her allies. This makes Exploding Blood a powerful tool in dangerous battles. It comes fifth since, although it has outstanding support abilities, it does not have the destruction capability of the others above it.
4 The Selfless State Makes a Fighter Hard to Read

It allows a fighter to hide their fighting spirit, making it difficult for enemies to predict their moves. Tanjiro uses it against Akaza during the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie, when the Upper Rank Three demon relies on his Compass Needle to read his opponents.
This ability gives Tanjiro a major advantage because it blinds Akaza’s predictive defenses completely. However, the Selfless State does not automatically make someone stronger or faster. It works best against enemies who depend on sensing fighting spirit, which is why it ranks just below the Demon Slayer Mark.
3 The Demon Slayer Mark Boosts a Slayer’s Power
The Demon Slayer Mark gives fighters a major boost in strength, speed, and overall fighting ability. Giyu reveals it during his fight against Akaza in the Infinity Castle movie, while Muichiro and Mitsuri unlock theirs during the Swordsmith Village arc. The mark helps Demon Slayers stand a better chance against powerful Upper Rank demons.
However, this power comes with a serious cost. Most people who awaken the mark are said to die before reaching the age of 25, with Yoriichi being the major exception. Even with this risk, the mark remains one of the most useful power-ups in the series. It ranks third because it improves several physical abilities at once, although it lacks the specialized offensive lethality of the legendary sword styles above it.
2 Moon Breathing Turns Kokushibo Into a Monster

It uses powerful sword strikes and sharp, crescent-shaped attacks that make it difficult for enemies to avoid his blows. After becoming a demon, Kokushibo combines this style with his Blood Demon Art, making his attacks even more deadly.
His power is clear during the Infinity Castle Arc, when several powerful Demon Slayers struggle to defeat him. Even marked Hashira find it difficult to keep up with his speed and attacks. Moon Breathing stands second only to Sun Breathing as the most destructive offensive combat art in the entire franchise.
1 Sun Breathing Is the Rarest and Strongest Breathing Style

It was created by Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the strongest swordsman in the series. His fight against Muzan shows just how powerful it can be, as Yoriichi nearly kills the Demon King in a single encounter.
Tanjiro later learns Sun Breathing through the Hinokami Kagura passed down through his family. However, mastering its forms takes time and effort. Sun Breathing ranks first because of its history, power, and proven ability to push even Muzan to the edge of defeat.
Now the big question: Which Demon Slayer ability do you think is the strongest, and is there another rare power that deserves a place on this list? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
