Michael Keaton and Morgan Freeman Reunite in Epic Western ‘Rode to Ruin’

Hollywood icons Michael Keaton and Morgan Freeman are officially saddling up together for Rode to Ruin, a gritty, character-driven Western thriller that marks their first on-screen collaboration in nearly four decades. With Angel Studios boarding the high-profile package, Rode to Ruin has secured an official theatrical release window slated for 2027. Although production has yet to roll cameras, locking down distribution early underscores the industry’s massive faith in the powerhouse team-up.

The project represents a historic creative milestone for Keaton. While Freeman is well-versed in the saddle, having left an indelible mark in Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-winning masterpiece Unforgiven, Rode to Ruin stands as Keaton’s first-ever Western. It also marks his third directorial feature, following The Merry Gentleman and the 2023 noir thriller Knox Goes Away
