Re “Charles shows power with soft diplomacy” (Editorial, April 30): The centuries-old monarchy has moved from being served to dedicating service to others. There are many who would deem the institution both irrelevant and unnecessary. King Charles’s speech underlined how valuable the monarchy’s existence remains in this very noisy, chaotic world of which we currently exist. A strong message, calmly and thoughtfully delivered, void of any threats, yet filled with encouragement. A reminder of the journey taken together and how we must stay united, more than ever, to continue embracing our shared values. To witness both sides of the floor stand up together in applause was remarkable. Charles was clearly heard and agreed with by all. Something we so rarely see. God save the King!

FIRE KIMMEL
Really and truly, Jimmy Kimmel has to be fired. This half-baked ‘comedian’ (radical leftist, venomous activist) has crossed the line with his tasteless ‘joke’ about Melania Trump “glowing like a widow.” He can feign and fudge and falsify all he wants, but we all know what he meant. ABC needs to fire this obsessive embarrassment and finally be rid of his rancour. Johnny Carson he is not. “Heeere’s Johnnny!” had actual standards and ethics, and a true sense of humour — something that the hate-filled, all-politics-all-the-time Kimmel has no clue about.

LIBERAL DEBT
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is quite right in pointing out that the government is piling up this country’s massive deficits (with no end in sight). However, let’s be clear who will really bear the burden of paying for this reckless spending (pardon me, ‘investing’). They are stealing from the pockets of our children, grandchildren, and children yet to be born. This is selfish, heartless and immoral. It is theft. And it should be illegal.
