FREELAND GETS A WAKE UP CALL
Re “Freeland called ‘Nazi,’ ‘Zionist dog'” (Gordon Anderson, May 27): No one, ever, should be the recipient of the ugly rhetoric of a pro-Hamas supporter. That being said, perhaps Chrystia Freeland can now better understand the terror these creeps have been causing Jewish Canadians across the country. When she was an MP, her vocal support for the Jewish community would have been welcomed. Now she can tell our prime minister what it feels like to be attacked. Unfortunately, this will probably not alter his already biased views.

(She did not deserve that at all. But it’s a valid point about her being part of a government who turned their backs on our Jewish communities)
MACDONALD’S COURAGE
Re “Taxpayers fund ‘deception'” (Brian Lilley, May 22): To my fellow Canadians who despise Donald Trump and everything American now — these are the same woke Canadians who won the battle to have Sir John A. Macdonald’s name, reputation and legacy erased from our culture and heritage. Unfortunately, the fact is that without Macdonald’s perseverance, integrity and courageous actions in the 1860’s, our great country would have been conquered by the Americans following the Civil War. Something to think about, my woke, misled friends.

WHO DOES CARNEY CARE ABOUT?
Mark Carney is all upset over Alberta’s referendum. Due to tariffs you bailed out major companies and manufacturers in the East but nothing for the West — and you wonder why western Canadians have had enough of the last 11 years of your Liberal Party? Are you really upset about the referendum or are you worried about the billions from transfer payments not going to your favourite provinces?

(Carney would be wise to do everything to maintain national unity and not ignore the issues Alberta has faced for decades)
