ALBERTA’S CHOICE
The Canada side in their arrogance has demonized the UCP government for letting Alberta even have referendums. The Canada side likes the status quo where Quebec and Ontario get to decide who will rule over us, with Eastern Canada issues first and Alberta issues dead last. The Canada side doesn’t even want or respect Albertans having the democratic right to decide. All the UCP government did was give Albertans more democracy over their affairs with the right to vote on issues important to “Albertans.” In what universe does Canada have the moral right to command that Albertans have less democracy. Is Canada so offended that Albertans should lose the right to vote? Thank you, UCP, for giving Albertans the right to vote. Canada doesn’t want you to decide! Think about that.

Re Editorial cartoon, Aug. 21: Yes, the mainstream media and the Liberals have done an excellent malicious hatchet job on Pierre Poilievre. They ignore his policies of affordability, on housing and health-care improvements, on getting tough on violent crime, on the bloated and inefficient bureaucracy and making government democratically accountable to the people (what a concept). I believe Poilievre has the support of most of his caucus. If he treated Conservative MPs with the contempt and disdain Mark Carney treats his, he would deserve serious criticism. The MSM refuses to hold the Liberal government accountable. That’s the problem.
