Krösche and Hütter concede Freiburg outperformed Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt bosses acknowledged that SC Freiburg are in better form than them right now after the 2-2 draw between the sides.

Eintracht Frankfurt ended SC Freiburg’s perfect start of the campaign with a 2-2 draw at Deutsche Bank Park on Saturday afternoon. However, Markus Krösche and Adi Hütter conceded that the hosts were second best compared to last season’s Europa League finalists.

“We played against a very good team that is very far in their development,” Frankfurt’s executive Krösche praised Freiburg’s project in his post-match interview. “We were very effective. We scored with our first chance. Freiburg were very dominant after that.”

Hütter, who is still looking for the first home win of his second spell at the club, agreed with his boss. “We would have liked to have taken more, but I have to honestly say that I am satisfied with the point because our performance was not good enough.

“To win against a strong Freiburg, you have to put in a very different performance. We had a phase in which we could score the third goal, but, in the end, we are also lucky enough to have taken the point. Freiburg were well organised. We have to be happy with the point.”

Frankfurt have only won once from the first four Bundesliga games of the season after their chaotic end to pre-season with a 7-0 defeat to Brentford. They are among the four teams who have already conceded double-digit goals this campaign.
