SC Freiburg came from behind twice to earn a hard-fought point from a trip to Frankfurt. Julian Schuster saw his side fail to win a game for the first time this season, but he was delighted with the reaction shown by his players.
“It was a thrilling game that was very exciting for every spectator,” the 41-year-old said in his post-game interview. “It is remarkable that we have been behind twice and have come back twice. It's not easy when you feel like you're in control and then concede goals on the counter.
“We can't be happy with that. On the other hand, it is very positive how the team dealt with it. At the beginning of the second half, Eintracht (Frankfurt) showed their offensive quality. It's good that we found back control. Against a team that has quality and at the stadium that boosts a lot of energy, I’m satisfied with the result.”
Freiburg headed into the international break in third place as they collected ten points from their first four games. They also won three cup games in the Europa Conference League and DFB-Pokal.
