Kelly's daughter reveals shocking abuse allegations

In a heart-wrenching revelation, Buku Abi, the eldest daughter of R. Kelly, has come forward with allegations of abuse by her father. In the docuseries "Karma: A Daughter's Journey," Abi, formerly known as Joann Kelly, recounts the harrowing experiences she endured as a child. She claims that the convicted singer molested her when she was around 8 or 9 years old.

"I just remember waking up to him touching me," the 26-year-old artist tearfully recalls. Abi, who shares her father with ex-wife Drea Kelly, describes how she felt paralyzed with fear and disbelief. "I didn't know what to do, so I just kind of laid there and pretended to be asleep," she admits.

Abi explains that she struggled to accept the reality of what was happening because R. Kelly was her "everything." She was too scared to tell anyone, including her mother. "I didn't know that, even if he was a bad person, that he would do something to me," she says.

Legal Denials and Convictions

R. Kelly's legal team has vehemently denied Abi's allegations. Jennifer Bonjean, his lawyer, stated that similar claims made by his ex-wife were investigated and found to be unfounded. Bonjean also criticized the filmmakers for not reaching out to Kelly or his team to allow him to deny these claims.

Despite these denials, R. Kelly is currently serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and violations of the Mann Act, which prohibits the transport of "any woman or girl" across state.
