Jon Bernthal’s incredible 2026 is about to get a whole lot better. The Odyssey star’s noted World War II drama Fury has been climbing the streaming charts steadily on Apple TV, with FlixPatrol currently placing it at 7th place on the streamer’s top 10 most-watched movies. Now, it is set to reach an even bigger audience with its Netflix release.
According to What’s on Netflix, David Ayer’s 135-minute WWII movie will be heading to Netflix on November 1, 2026. The movie has an ensemble cast along with Bernthal, including Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, and Shia LeBeuf. After a strong run on one platform, the movie is set to reach a far wider crowd on another.
Jon Bernthal’s WWII Drama Was an Apple TV Hit Before Netflix

The film is set to move to Netflix in November and will be available to a whole new set of audiences, 12 years after it was released theatrically in 2014. While we do not know how popular it could be on Netflix, we know that Fury already had audiences on streaming.
The WWII movie is currently streaming on Apple TV, and it has been killing it on the streamer. Starring Brad Pitt and Jon Bernthal, the movie is currently in the 7th position, but it was even higher earlier on the US charts. On October 21, it was in 5th, ranking higher than Pitt’s Apple TV original, F1.
The staying power is what stands out. FlixPatrol tracking indicates the film has charted in Apple TV’s top 10 for a total of 40 non-consecutive days. That is a notable feat for a 2014 release competing against new titles on a service that holds roughly 13 percent of the United States subscription video on demand market, according to a July 2026 report (via Men’s Journal).
The next stop is Netflix. It is a natural fit for a movie that already proved its pull. Its audience is considerably larger than a newer platform can offer, and war dramas tend to do well with subscribers who want something intense and rewatchable. The film’s streaming success is also a big win for Jon Bernthal, who had multiple successes with The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and His & Hers.
Fury Duo David Ayer and Brad Pitt Reunited This Year
Brad Pitt in Heart of the Beast | Credits: Paramount PicturesDavid Ayer’s Fury was also the first collaboration between Brad Pitt and David Ayer, who reunited this year with Heart of the Beast. The 2026 film was another war thriller, but this time blending in the survival genre. Pitt also served as a producer through his Plan B Entertainment banner, and it was released by Paramount in September.
Pitt plays James Belmont, a Special Forces officer stranded in the Alaskan wilderness with his military dog Odin after a plane crash. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also star, and production took place in New Zealand, which stood in for Alaska. Where Fury kept its characters locked inside a steel tank, this project sends one man and one dog across open, unforgiving terrain.
Fury’s success on streaming could also be because of Ayer and Pitt’s current collaboration. Heart of the Beast received rave reviews, scoring 84% with critics on RT, which was much more than what Fury got. However, the Jon Bernthal-starring WWII drama had a better run at the box office, as Heart of the Beast only got $170 million (via Box Office Mojo).
For anyone who missed Fury or wants to see it again before its Netflix arrival, the movie remains a strong pick. It combines a committed Pitt performance, a standout supporting turn from Jon Bernthal, and a tight look at brotherhood under pressure.
