The hopes are, if we continue with the series, we’ll make sure that we kind of tie it right back to the beginning of season 3 [of the original show].

Sure, the spinoff takes place between Seasons 2 and 3, so we’re already familiar with the Mind Flayer event, but the Starcourt Mall disaster hasn’t happened yet. If the story continues within this gap, it makes sense to start weaving in subtle clues that point toward the events of Season 3.

What this reveals is that the series can continue through its own spin-offs, showing smaller, eerie details or seemingly isolated incidents that quietly build toward the bigger events in the original series. This would deliver on its promise to show us something we’ve never seen in the flagship show.

What Can We Expect From Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2?

It’s hard to guess when the potential second season could land in the timetable, but we do know that the spinoff has been in development since 2023, with early planning dating back to 2021.
