Who Is Ormund Hightower from House of the Dragon S3 Trailer?

Ormund Hightower serves as the Lord of Oldtown and the head of House Hightower during the Targaryen civil war. He is the nephew of Otto Hightower and Alicent Hightower’s cousin, and occupies a central position in one of the most powerful families in Westeros. 

He was referenced in Season 2, when they mentioned Hightower forces gathering in Oldtown. These hints laid the groundwork for his formal introduction in Season 3, where he seems to be a frontline leader rather than just a distant political ally.

Even showrunner Ryan Condal has emphasized that Ormund Hightower is about to become one of the most important additions to Season 3 of House of the Dragon. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, here’s what Condal said:

Condal also described him as the “voice of the south,” and what’s more interesting is that we might finally get a look at Daeron Targaryen (Alicent’s son), who’s previously been referenced, and is currently squiring for Ormund.
