When it comes to the Naruto-verse, the powerscaling and abilities are vivid and spread across multiple dynamics and mechanics. Among the clans and characters, none are more iconic in battle prowess than the Uchiha, especially thanks to their innate visual techniques with the Sharingan.

Among the plethora of attacks powered by the Sharingan, the Susanoo is among the most innate and powerful techniques, appearing in various forms throughout the narrative. That being said, which is the strongest form of them all? Let’s find out by ranking them by power.

7 The Incomplete/Skeletal Susanoo Form

Known Users: Every Uchiha who awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, and Indra Otsutsuki (Anime).

The Incomplete/Skeletal Susanoo is one of the earliest manifestations of the technique; a skeletal structure surrounded by Chakra. This Susanoo form was seen multiple times throughout the anime series, used by almost every Uchiha Clan member – Sasuke, Itachi, Madara, etc. There is also a version for Shisui Uchiha, which is exclusive to the Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution console game.

While it is still a Susanoo manifestation, the form is rife with flaws and serves as a basic defensive shield that can withstand attacks to a degree. It also offers only limited offensive power and is no match for the other forms.

6 The Ribcage Susanoo Form

Known Users: Sasuke, Itachi, and Madara Uchiha.

A level above the Incomplete/Skeletal Susanoo Form, but still lacks the power from the more true forms of the technique. The Ribcage Susanoo essentially creates a Chakra ribcage wrapping around the user’s body; a half-skeleton torso with ribs and spine.

Compared to the previous early manifestation, this form has a much more compatible defense against explosion, large-scale ninjutsu techniques and releases, and physical attacks. However, it drains a lot of the user’s Chakra and is not worth the output it provides. The only upside to his incomplete manifestation is that it can be summoned instantly in combat and can be used as a reflex defense.

5 The Humanoid Susanoo Form

Known Users: Itachi, Shisui (Game Only), Madara, and Sasuke Uchiha.

This is the moment when the Susanoo starts looking more like an entity than just an extension or shield of the user’s body. Instead of a skeleton or rib cage formation, the Susanoo manifests into an entire upper body, with a head, torso, and arms. The Humanoid Susanoo was also narratively significant for Sasuke’s powerscaling arc, as it marked the transition from defense to full combat usage.

The Humanoid Susanoo can physically fight with punches, grabs, and strikes, and can even wield basic Chakra weapons. While it lacks compared to the Armored and Perfect Susanoo forms in defense, it is still heavily defensive and can tank high-level jutsu and tailed beast-level attacks to a degree.

4 The Armored Susanoo Form

Known Users: Sasuke, Itachi, and Madara Uchiha.

The Armored Susanoo is one of the strongest early manifestations of the exclusive Sharingan technique. As the name suggests, the user’s Humanoid Susanoo covers itself in samurai-like plated armor and weilds powerful weapons – these weapons vary from user to user. The Armored Susanoo acts as the perfect bridge between the Humanoid and the Perfect Susanoo manifestations.

Sasuke’s Armored Susanoo weilds a Chakra bow and arrow, while Madara’s weilds massive chakra blades with destructive power. However, the most unique weapon sets come with Itachi’s Armored Susano – Totsuka Blade, which can seal anything it pierces, and the Yata Mirror, which can adapt to block any attack.

3 The Dual Mangekyo Susanoo Form

Known Users: Kakashi Hatake.

We’re entering overpowered territory with the Dual Mangekyo Susanoo form, which Kakashi manifested after receiving both Obito’s eyes during the Fourth Shinobi World War. While the Susanoo resembles a Perfect Susanoo-level humanoid with chakra constructs like wings and armor, what makes it scary is the weapons it weilds.

Kakashi’s Susanoo weilds Kamui Shurikens as its main weapons – shurikens that can warp anything they touch into another dimension, bypassing durability entirely. This was only a one-time exclusive Susanoo form shown in the Naruto: Shippuden series.

2 The Perfect Susanoo Form

Known Users: Sasuke, Madara, Itachi (Game Only), Shisui Uchiha (Game Only), and Indra Otsutsuki.

The Perfect Susanoo Form, also known as the Full-Body Susanoo, is the most refined form of the Mangekyo Sharingan technique. The manifestation is complete, with the apparition’s full body, and is massive in size. Furthermore, it is also armored and can wield unique weapons depending on the user – basically takes in everything from the previous forms and makes it complete and better.

While it can tank Kage-level attacks, Tailed Beast Bombs, and massive ninjutsu releases defensively, the offensive power is also astounding. For instance, in the anime series, Madara’s Perfect Susanoo slices mountains apart.

1 The Tailed-Beast Enhanced Susanoo Form

Known Users: Sasuke Uchiha.

One of the most menacing forms of the Susanoo, the Tailed-Beast Enhanced Susanoo form was obtained when Sasuke Uchiha absorbed all the Tailed Beast’s Chakra into his manifestation during the Final Valley fight against Naruto. All the absorption resulted in a powerful, chakra-overloaded Perfect Susanoo.

This form serves as a one-stage evolution of the Susanoo Sasuke manifested during the Fourth Shinobi World War with the help of Hagoromo’s Six Paths Chakra. What makes this form so scary is Sasuke’s signature attack, which he used in this manifestation – Indra’s Arrow. The attack is one of the strongest in the series; a combination of Lightning Release, Six Paths Chakra, and Tailed Beast energy.
