Every Anime Character Who Flexed a Little Too Hard

The world of anime presents many interesting characters who often come off as extraordinarily powerful. While everyone has their shining moments throughout their respective series, sometimes they push above and beyond with their usual flexing and level up to a different level of cold and cool aura.

While there are so many moments to choose from throughout the decades of anime, a few of them caught our eyes, and we can barely forget them. Here are some of the best anime moments when characters may have flexed a little too hard.

1 Killer Bee Writing a Poem While Fighting the Entire Team Taka

This was a ridiculous flex from the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki as Sasuke and his Team Taka from the Akatsuki entered the Land of the Hidden Clouds. However, all four members of Team Taka find themselves in the losing corner as Bee casually fights all of them.

To top that, while he is completely overpowering Sasuke Uchiha and the rest of the strong members, Bee starts writing a rap and raps while fighting them. Bee nearly kills Sasuke multiple times and forces Karin to heal him repeatedly. This was the first time fans realised Akatsuki-level fighters weren’t invincible.

2 Kenpachi Zaraki Treating Tosen’s Bankai as His Own Playground

While he eventually became one of the strongest characters in the Bleach anime and manga series, Kenpachi Zaraki was an absolute monster long before the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc. In the main anime series, Zaraki takes on not one but two Gotei 13 captains at once and even humiliates Kaname Tosen, who used his Bankai.

Kaname’s Bankai is meant to take away the sight and hearing of his opponents, and he used to overpower Zaraki at the start. However, Zaraki just started to flex and let Tosen stab him, returning devastating slashes in return while holding the pierced blade, and showed signs of excitement instead.

3 Benimaru Fighting Infernals in Asakusa Without Breaking a Sweat

Before his spectacle in Asakusa, Benimaru Shinmon was already considered one of the strongest Fire Soldiers in the Fire Force series, and what he did in Asakusa was a massive flex on proving why he got the title exactly. He protects an entire town almost alone, with occasional assistance from Shinra and Company 8.

To top that, he showed one of the most spectacular controls over flames – his fire brooms piercing through the night sky felt nothing less than a burning flower. Benimaru combines raw destruction with absurd precision, showing why even captains fear him.

4 Satoru Gojo’s Hollow Purple Splitting the Ground in Half

This was one of Satoru Gojo’s early flexes in the Jujutsu Kaisen series; one out of many for the “strongest” in the series. While Yuji and Todo continued fighting against Hanami and the other cursed spirits and users, the villains put up a barrier specifically to prevent Satoru from entering the battlefield.

But guess who comes through the barrier and foils their plans – Satoru Gojo, floating and disabling the barrier within seconds. To top that, Gojo had to flex even more and fire a Hollow Purple combining Blue and Red – an attack that literally split the ground in two.

5 Ichigo Kurosaki Solos the Bambies After Arriving in Soul Society

Ichigo arriving during the Quincy invasion was one of Thousand-Year Blood War anime’s hypest moments. After Kenpachi Zaraki gets overwhelmed and almost defeated by the Bambies, the air around them changes as they notice a flying entity coming crashing down at the Soul Society – Ichigo Kurosaki has finally arrived at the battlefield.

He shifts the battle momentum almost immediately, taking out the Bambies and saving Kenpachi Zaraki. Meanwhile, his spiritual pressure was so great that everyone was shocked – the series basically announcing that – “the main character has returned stronger than ever”.

6 Giyu Tomioka Taking Over for Tanjiro Against Rui in Demon Slayer

This was one of the coldest anime moments in modern-day anime, especially since Giyu maintains his cold and stoic composure throughout the entire interaction against Rui. Tanjiro and Nezuko give it their all to defeat the Lower Moon demon, Tanjiro even losing his sword, but the villain survives and is about to kill Tanjiro.

Out of nowhere, a streak of Water Breathing appears, and Giyu Tomioka takes over for Tanjiro. Even though Rui attacks Giyu, he activates his own created Eleventh Form to neutralise every attack. Then comes the ultimate flex – Giyu just casually strolls beside Rui and beheads the demon like it’s nothing.

7 Reanimated Minato Arrives to Teleport the Ten-Tails’ Beast Bomb

The situation is extremely dire – Naruto is exhausted and being healed by Sakura, and the Ten-Tails just launched a devastating Tailed Beast Bomb that can take out the entire Shinobi Allied forces just like that. Only Bee in his Gyuki form is trying to stop the attack from landing, while every other attack has failed.

Suddenly, the Tailed Beast Bomb vanishes into thin air, marking the grand arrival of the reincarnated Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. This was one of the coolest moments of the Fourth Shinobi World War, one of the cleanest Naruto anime flexes ever.

8 Mihawk Using His Little Knife Against Zoro With Three Swords

If we want to talk about the coldest flexes in anime, it’s really hard not to include the introduction scene of Dracule Mihawk in the One Piece anime series. After casually splitting a large pirate ship in half, Mihawk arrives at Baratie, where Zoro challenges him to a duel.

Mihawk doesn’t even consider Zoro worthy of Yoru and takes out a small knife. Despite Zoro wielding three katanas, Mihawk absolutely humiliates and defeats him without breaking a sweat. If that’s not over-flexing, we really need to change our dictionaries.

9 Rock Lee Dropping His Training Weights Against Gaara in Naruto

Talk about flexing in the original Naruto series; we can never forget the casual training weights dropped by Rock Lee while facing Gaara – the best fight in the Chunin Exam Arc, if you ask us. The weights came crashing down and almost destroyed the arena, while Lee basically became invisible with speed after that.

Gaara, who had an almost impenetrable sand defence, was hit multiple times by Lee, who even managed to draw blood. Although Lee lost the fight, he won over our hearts with his awe-inspiring iconic moment and willpower that kept him going.

10 All Might Punching Nomu to Oblivion in My Hero Academia

As the league of villains was completely overwhelming Class 1-A students in the My Hero Academia anime series, All Might makes his entry – one of the flashiest and most striking shonen anime entries in our opinion. Nomu, a hybrid villain who has been terrifying the teachers and students, finally meets its match.

The fist-fight between them was so intense that every punch created shockwaves, pushing everyone else further back. And then came All Might’s ultimate flex – with a “Go Beyond, Plus Ultra”, All Might sends Nomu flying into oblivion.

11 Madara Uchiha Casually Dropping a Second Tengai Shinsei on Onoki

If you are a true Naruto anime fan, you can never forget the famous Madara Uchiha – “What are you going to do about the second one, Onoki?” – moment during the Fourth Shinobi World War. Madara Uchiha, being the flex king of the series, decided to use Tengai Shinsei and casually drop a planet-sized boulder on the Five-Kage and Shinobi Alliance.

When he saw Onoki was able to deal with the first one somehow, he decided to mockingly drop a second one on top of that. That absolute overkill and flexing from Madara Uchiha is why he’s one of the Naruto villains we fans love to hate.

12 Aizen Calmly Takes on the Gotei 13 Captains and the Visored

Moving on from Madara Uchiha, the anime world has another flex king who absolutely loves to show off his powers, and that’s exactly what he did when taking on a combined force of the Gotei 13 and Visored – he’s none other than Sousuke Aizen from Bleach. Aizen’s aura and flex here were unmatched.

When multiple captains and Visored attacked him, he dismantled them using Kyoka Suigetsu, which manipulates everyone effortlessly. If it weren’t for Ichigo’s Final Getsuga Tensho, we would have already considered Aizen as nearly untouchable by that point.

13 Sung Jinwoo Casually Walks All Over the Terrifying Ant King Beru

The Ant King Beru was one of the most powerful enemies in the Solo Leveling anime series – taking out S-Rank hunters left and right like they were nothing. However, even he fell into despair once one of anime’s most broken characters entered the scene, Sung Jinwoo.

Although it was an even matchup at the very beginning, Beru soon realised its fate was sealed against Jinwoo. He didn’t just flex on Beru, countering all his attacks and poison; he literally annihilated the dungeon boss, mutilating its body into pieces until nothing was left.

14 Son Goku Toying With Ginyu Squad on Planet Namek in Dragon Ball Z

The Dragon Ball Z series is basically an entire inventory of character flex moments from the shonen anime genre, but none of them hit home like when Son Goku arrived on Planet Namek and fought the Ginyu squad. This moment completely changed Dragon Ball Z power scaling.

He not only defeated the Ginyu squad alone, the same squad that defeated fighters like Vegeta and Krillin, he literally toyed with them, flexing his almost-invisible super speed. The Saiyan prince, Vegeta, was also dumbfounded by the drastic difference in power levels.

15 Gear 5 Luffy Tossing Kaido Around Like a Toy Snake in One Piece

Luffy literally dies at the hands of the Yonko, Kaido, who also sends the Straw Hats, Momonosuke, Yamato, and others into despair with his overwhelming demonic strength and defence. But then the flex-fest begins as the Drums of Liberation start rolling, awakening Luffy’s Devil Fruit and turning him into the Sun God Nika.

After becoming Nika and going into Gear 5, the entire scenario of the battle changed. Luffy literally grabbed Kaido and started playing with him – sometimes like a lasso, other times like a skipping rope – the Yonko started feeling like a rubbery toy snake rather than an actual powerful dragon.
