The next major installment in the franchise is all set to make its debut on October 23, 2026, bringing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC players to the Korean Peninsula for an all-new conflict. As we’ve stated earlier, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026. As of now, Activision hasn’t announced an exact time for when the game will go live for players. However, that information is expected to be revealed closer to the release.

Activision has also confirmed that an Open Beta will also be taking place for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 before launch. Although there are still no official dates or timings that have been announced yet, the franchise’s past release pattern suggests that the beta will likely happen sometime in September or October, a few weeks ahead of the launch, and could run for at least two days.

All Confirmed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Platforms & Editions

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is all set to launch on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Unfortunately, the game is going to skip last-generation hardware, which means Xbox One and PS4 players will need to upgrade if they want to jump into the next chapter of Modern Warfare. Activision has also confirmed that the title won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass, due to the changes Microsoft has made to the subscription service.

The game will arrive in two editions: the Standard Edition priced at $69.99, and the Vault Edition costing $99.99. The biggest difference between the two is that the Vault Edition comes with bonus content such as the Season 1 BlackCell Pass, exclusive Operator Packs, and additional cosmetic rewards.

Aside from those, both editions include the campaign, multiplayer, Early Open Beta Access, the Hunter Killer Operator Skin, and other pre-order bonuses. So, if cosmetics aren’t your cup of tea, the Standard Edition is likely the better choice.

Those players who have purchased any Call of Duty title since 2019 will also be eligible for a 10% discount on digital storefronts when purchasing the Vault Edition, which would bring down its price to $89.99.

Now, when it comes to the single-player campaign, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will take players to the Korean Peninsula, where North Korea has launched a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilize the entire world. Players will step into the shoes of Private Park, who is a young South Korean soldier heading into combat for the very first time.

Players can expect to see trench warfare and various locations such as New York, Paris, and Mumbai. If that wasn’t enough, Captain Price is also making his return, but this time as an operator who has turned into an outlaw. Fans can also expect to see beloved characters from the Modern Warfare series making their return.

As for gunplay, Infinity Ward has removed bloom completely, while weapon handling has been improved. Movement is now centered around fluidity, control, and player freedom, meaning the omnimovement system has been removed.

The game will drop with 12 core maps, alongside Kill Block, a brand-new multiplayer battleground featuring over 500 possible dynamic layouts. Progression is also being overhauled, and new Apex Attachments are also being added. DMZ is also set to make a return with an enhanced experience.
