Straw Hat Pirates are back on Netflix, but this time, they are made of LEGO bricks! LEGO One Piece has already attracted 3.8 million views globally for the week of September 28 to October 4, 2026, securing the No. 5 spot on Netflix’s global English-language shows chart (via Netflix Tudum). The two-part One Piece animated special gives fans a playful retelling of the live-action series, with Emily Rudd and the rest of the cast returning to voice their characters.
The timing is perfect, too. With One Piece Season 3 scheduled for 2027, the LEGO special offers fans another chance to enjoy the crew before their next major live-action adventure.
LEGO One Piece Becomes Netflix’s Latest One Piece Hit
Netflix has another One Piece hit on its hands, and the numbers make it clear that fans are happy to see the Straw Hats in a new style. According to Netflix’s Top 10 global chart of September 28 to October 4, the series LEGO One Piece earned 3.8 million views from 4.2 million hours watched during its first week and took 5th place in English-language shows. Considering that the two-part special has a runtime of just over an hour, this is a strong start for a project that puts a playful spin on a familiar story.
What makes this success interesting is that the special is not trying to replace the live-action series. Instead, it brings the Straw Hats’ early adventures to life through LEGO animation. In addition, the series offers a chance to see the battles, friends, and crazy moments of the characters with a bit of humor.
The special revisits the crew’s journey from the East Blue into the Grand Line, covering events from the first two seasons of Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation. Usopp narrates the adventures to Chopper, which is a particularly fitting choice given his talent for exaggerating stories. His version of the Straw Hats’ journey leaves plenty of room for jokes and amusing twists.
The returning voice cast makes the experience even better. Iñaki Godoy voices Luffy, Mackenyu returns as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson plays Usopp, Taz Skylar voices Sanji, and Emily Rudd returns as Nami. Mikaela Hoover also voices Chopper. Having the actors bring their characters to life again gives the special a stronger connection to the live-action series.
The involvement of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda as an executive producer is another welcome touch. Produced in collaboration with the LEGO Group, Shueisha, and Atomic Cartoons, the special offers a fun alternative for fans who already know these adventures by heart.
Emily Rudd Is Set to Return as Nami in One Piece Season 3

Netflix has confirmed that the live-action One Piece will return for Season 3 in 2027, with the story moving into the Alabasta Saga. After the events of the first two seasons, the next chapter promises a much bigger challenge for Luffy and his crew.
The Alabasta Saga introduces a conflict that goes beyond the Straw Hats’ usual adventures. Princess Vivi needs help saving her kingdom, while the criminal organization Baroque Works and its powerful leader, Sir Crocodile, threaten to plunge the country into chaos. This gives the story a more serious emotional core, with the crew becoming involved in a struggle that could affect an entire nation.
For Rudd, this is an exciting opportunity to show more of what makes Nami such an important member of the Straw Hats. She is practical, sharp-witted, and often the voice of reason when Luffy rushes into trouble without thinking. But beneath her tough exterior is someone who cares deeply about her friends. The Alabasta storyline should give those qualities plenty of room to shine.
Season 3 will also introduce several major characters, including Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger, and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1. Their arrival should make the live-action world feel even bigger while bringing some of the manga’s most memorable characters to the screen.
The success of LEGO One Piece is a welcome sign for the franchise as fans wait for the next live-action season. With nearly four million views already behind the animated special, Netflix has given fans another reason to revisit the Straw Hats before their return in 2027.
