Dr. Stone Science Future Part 3 released its 2nd Episode on April 9th, 2026, and as the title suggests, the pace has finally slowed down. The first episode was full of many moments, each equally important and exhilarating, but because of that, the pacing felt a bit odd.
However, in this new episode, there was only one key moment, and the rest was a buildup to that. Let’s dive into a review of this episode and recap the main events.
Time To Find Fluorite in Barcelona
In the first episode, the world exploration team had finally set off on their journey in the new Perseus ship. However, Japan is not the first place they are going to. Instead, their first destination is Barcelona, Spain. The reason for this is that a huge amount of fluorite is available there, which is needed to make various scientific equipment.
But most importantly, it’s an element that can’t be overlooked when making a spaceship and a spacesuit. The reason for this sudden haste towards Spain is simple: Why-Man’s last message to Senku and others was “Do you want to die?” Furthermore, now that Why-Man has stopped broadcasting all messages, it’s a must that Science Kingdom make it to the moon as soon as possible.
Ryuusui and Senku Create a New Civilization in Spain

Instead, their goal is to make Olive Oil for various personal and strategic reasons. While it appears that Ryuusui just wants to eat more amazing food, he manages to win the hearts of revived Spanish citizens by offering them good food as well, which is also the kind of food they are most familiar with.
Following that, Ryuusui buys the Fluorite from the people of Barcelona, starting a new economy, and taking control of the new currency in one more place. Senku wasted no time and created a much better lens, and that lens was then used to make a Telescope, which proved to be useful quite fast.
Ryuusui’s Plan To Visit India to Find a Mathematician
A globe showing India in Dr. Stone Science Future | Credit: TMS EntertainmentRyuusui’s next planned destination is India. Why? Because if you’re going to the moon itself, you need a master mathematician. And according to Senku, India is the best place for that. This is also the moment when this episode teased the new character with his silhouette.
However, there is a problem. They do not have enough fuel left to make a journey by circling Africa, and if they are going to wait for the biogas to generate, it would take more than a year before they can actually start their journey once again.
The silver lining is that the Suez Canal may still be available. Senku, Ryuusui, and Chelsea Childe use the telescope to check, and it turns out to be blocked by nothing but trees. I love how there are things Senku can’t do by himself. Even if he knows about the canal, there is no way he could’ve spotted it all by himself. We’ve seen him making mistakes in season one as well. He is no Superman after all.
Senku Finally Makes a Ballistic Missile

This was another key moment in Senku’s journey. When he was little, and Dr. Xeno mentored him over the exchange of emails, Dr. Xeno mentioned that there is fundamentally no difference between the rocket that he wants to make and a ballistic missile.
Senku, in his inner monologue, mentions that he finally made a ballistic missile as well. That missile, made from the prototype jet engine created by Dr. Xeno, is then used to open up the Suez Canal. This moment was nothing in comparison with the previous amazing moments of this anime that we’ve seen, but it was still amazing. It’s just surreal to think about how Senku started with sticks and stones, and now he has a missile.
Dr. Stone Science Future Part 3 Episode 2: Final Verdict
Francois and Ryuusui from Dr. Stone Science Future | Credit: TMS EntertainmentFrom Dr. Stone’s standards, it was just another episode. However, it did solve a problem we saw in the first episode: things were moving too fast. If this episode also followed the pacing of the first episode, we would’ve already been in India by now. Thankfully, that didn’t turn out to be the case.
Animation-wise, it was still pretty standard. The primary appeal of this anime is not the animation; it’s the science. And for the fans who care deeply about it, it did show us a bunch of new cool stuff, like telescopes made of Fluorite and how to make Olive Oil.

Dr. Stone Science Future Part 3 Episode 2 Review: The Pace Finally Slows Down
Unlike the last episode, this episode was well-paced. Furthermore, the next destination is clear as well, and I can't wait to see who this new master mathematician is going to be. It was not a perfect episode, but it was as good as it could be for the part of the story that's not as exciting as other moments.
