The new Blood Hunt mode in Marvel Rivals is a noticeably more complex PvE experience than the Zombies mode that came before it. The vampire horde compositions, escalating Nightmare difficulty tiers, one-shotting bosses, and the sheer volume of build variables mean there’s a real learning curve before things start clicking, but once they do, it’s one of the more satisfying modes the game has put out.
Squirrel Girl is one of the better heroes to bring into that chaos. Her crowd control and horde-clearing output are among the strongest in the mode, and the build below is designed to push both to their ceiling. Here’s everything you need.
Best Gear for Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt
In an RNG-based system, priority always wins. | Credits: NetEase Games/FandomWireGear in Blood Hunt is RNG-dependent, so you won’t always get the exact rolls you want on any given run. That said, knowing what to prioritize when a drop does come up makes a big difference, especially heading into the higher Nightmare tiers.
Here’s a full breakdown of the recommended gear and stat priorities for Squirrel Girl:
| Weapon | Ashwood Slingshot | • Burst Acorn Damage +X | • Precision Rate • Critical Hit Rate • Precision Damage • Critical Damage • Bonus Damage against Bosses |
| Armor | Runic Armor | • Health +X • Armor Value +X | • Healing Rune Charge Slots • Armor Value • Health% • Health |
| Accessory | Alchemy Amulet | • Critical Hit Rate +X% • Block Rate +X% | • Precision Rate • Critical Hit Rate • Precision Damage • Critical Damage • Health restored upon defeating an enemy |
| Exclusive | Seed of Yggdrasill | • Acorn projectile size +X% • Acorn spell field radius +X% | • Rhythm of Nature Enhancement • Jumbo Acorn Enhancement • Acorns for Everyone! Enhancement • Bonus Damage against Bosses |
Of course, the end goal here is to have Legendary-rarity gear in all four slots. You must also try to keep your combined Critical/Precision Hit Rate at 40% or above before worrying about anything else. From there, stack as much Critical Damage and Precision Damage as the drops allow.
That said, the Exclusive slot is the one that can genuinely transform how our Squirrel Girl build plays. The Rhythm of Nature Enhancement specifically gives you near-constant uptime on Mammal Bond, which in turn lets you spam Squirrel Blockage (or Tail Bounce) to your heart’s content.
In practice, it creates a near-permanent stun loop on incoming hordes that your teammates will absolutely appreciate.
Best Traits for Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt
Left tree, mostly. Mostly. | Credits: NetEase Games/FandomWireSquirrel Girl’s Traits are split into two trees: Acorn Feast on the left and Rodent Commander on the right. This build lives primarily on the left tree, but you’ll also be pulling a handful of key picks from the right as well.
General Traits
For the General Traits, prioritize maxing out the following on the damage side first:
- Precision Rate
- Critical Hit Rate
- Precision Damage
- Critical Damage
- Total Output
- Total Damage
Health, and specifically Percentage Max Health, needs attention too. At higher Nightmare difficulties, boss damage gets to a point where a purely offensive stat spread will get you killed on a regular basis, so don’t neglect it.
For the three major General Traits, the left-side picks are the ones you want: Primary ATK Speed, Primary DMG Bonus, and Critical Damage Multiplier. All three directly amplify the core loop of this build.
Ability Traits: Acorn Feast Tree
Assign at least one point to essentially every trait on this tree to keep unlocking the skill levels, but prioritize fully maxing these out:
- Bursting Acorn
- Jumbo Acorn
- Rapid Acorn Fire
- Acorn Rain
These four are the backbone of the crowd-clearing identity this build is built around.
Ability Traits: Rodent Commander Tree
You won’t need much from this side, but these specific picks are worth the investment for this build:
- Squirrel Swarm
- Rodent Plague
- Offense is Defense
- Buddy Boost
- Thousand-Squirrel Army
One last thing worth noting: you will frequently get Gear drops that include bonuses tied to specific Traits. If a drop offers a substantial bonus for a Trait that is not on the lists above, we recommend still grabbing that Trait just to activate the bonus rather than leaving it on the table.

Before spending anything in the Arcane Realm, max out Scroll of Conquest and Scroll of Immortality first. Scroll of Blessing and Scroll of Midas are useful down the line for getting better loot, but the first two have a more immediate impact on your runs.
For the Common Arcana cards that you pick up between phases, here’s the priority order on the offensive side (red cards):
- Lethal Strike: Total Damage Bonus +X%
- First Blood: X% Damage Bonus against Healthy Enemies
- Boss Hunter: X% Bonus Damage against Bosses
And for defensive picks (blue cards):
- Iron Body: Gain X% Health Bonus
- Indomitable: Gain X% Damage Reduction
Keep the red card priority in that order. Lethal Strike compounds across the entire run and should be taken whenever it shows up. First Blood is more situational but still a strong pick in horde-heavy phases to tackle most mid-tier enemies easily.
Squirrel Girl is quite strong in Blood Hunt

Before you start carrying your team on a winning streak in the highest difficulties like the player above, here’s a quick summary of our full Squirrel Girl build at a glance:
| Weapon | Legendary Ashwood Slingshot (Precision Rate > Crit Rate > Precision DMG > Crit DMG) |
| Armor | Runic Armor (Healing Rune Slots > Armor Value > Health%) |
| Accessory | Alchemy Amulet (Precision Rate > Crit Rate > Precision DMG > Crit DMG) |
| Exclusive | Seed of Yggdrasill (Rhythm of Nature Enhancement first) |
| Key Ability Traits | Bursting Acorn, Jumbo Acorn, Rapid Acorn Fire, Acorn Rain, Thousand-Squirrel Army |
| Arcana | Lethal Strike > First Blood > Boss Hunter / Health Bonus > Damage Reduction |
And finally, a few things worth clarifying about this build:
Is Squirrel Girl viable at the highest Nightmare difficulty in Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt?
Yes, and the crowd control uptime this build generates is a significant reason why. Mammal Bond uptime via the Seed of Yggdrasill’s Rhythm of Nature Enhancement keeps hordes manageable even at the top tier, provided the rolls on your gear cooperate.
How important is the Seed of Yggdrasill compared to the other gear slots?
It’s the highest-priority slot for this build. If you are lucky enough to get one with a decent roll of the “Rhythm of Nature Enhancement” perk, it instantly takes the build from solid to exceptional. All in all, prioritize getting this overpowered Exclusive Gear before the other slots if you have to choose.
Can this build work without the Legendary Ashwood Slingshot?
You’ll manage without it in earlier phases, but the Burst Acorn damage scaling on the Legendary version is a notable difference heading into Nightmare difficulties. Treat it as a priority upgrade if and when you’re blessed by the game’s RNG.
Should stat priorities change at higher Nightmare difficulties?
The damage stat priority stays the same, but Percentage Max Health (and Health/Armor in general) becomes considerably more important as boss damage scales up. Don’t let the survivability stats fall too far behind the offensive ones once you’re past the standard difficulty tiers.
Are you maining Squirrel Girl in Blood Hunt, and have you been able to find a “god roll” gear yet? Are there any other perks outside of the ones mentioned in our guide that you’ve been getting more mileage out of? Let us know in the comments below!
