Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 6 Officially Confirmed After Record-Breaking Streaming Run

Without a season 5 release, Alan Ritchson‘s Reacher has officially been confirmed for another season after it had a record-breaking streaming run with season 4. Per a report by Deadline, Prime Video has given Reacher another renewal after the season 4 finale (which was released on September 16, 2026).

This marks the first time in the entire show’s history that it has received two renewals in the same year. Ahead of the season 4 premiere, season 5 had already been given a green light by Prime Video, and it seems that history is repeating itself.

However, Prime Video’s gamble has worked out pretty well for the company since season 4 received a record-breaking streaming run after its release.

Reacher Season 4 Breaks Personal Streaming Record on Prime Video

Developed by Nick Santora and based on Lee Child’s books, season 4 of Reacher amassed 66 million viewers globally in the first 28 days since its release on Prime Video.

This record-breaking streaming run was broke the previous season’s performance, since season 3 had reached a total of 54.6 million viewers globally (via Variety). Per Deadline, Reacher‘s season 2 is the most-viewed returning season of all time on Prime Video, with season 4 and season 3 following closely behind.

According to Amazon, more than 58% of Reacher‘s season 4 audience is based internationally (specifically the U.K., Germany, and Brazil). Consdering the success that the Prime Video show has received so far, it makes sense for Prime Video to renew it for a sixth season.

Which Book Will Reacher‘s Season Six Adapt This Time?

Based on the iconic novels by Lee Child, Reacher season 1 adapted the first book, Killing Floor, into a television series. The second season adapted book 11, Bad Luck and Trouble, while the third season adapted Persuader (book 7).

The recently released season 4 adapted the 13th book of the Lee Child series, Gone Tomorrow. Naturally, it can be assumed that adaptations do not follow a formula for getting adapted. The upcoming season 5 has been confirmed to adapt Make Me, the 20th book in the Lee Child series, but there has been no news about the plot of season 6.

However, lead star Alan Ritchson wrote a response on Threads to a fan who said they were waiting for “the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp.” In response, Alan Ritchson replied that Die Trying (the name of the novel) was his favorite novel.

This could potentially be a hint as to what season 6 might have in store for us. However, it remains speculation until confirmed otherwise. Whatever the plot of season 6 may be, what we can hope for is that Prime Video’s gamble with season 5 and season 6 will work.

Reacher Season 5 is expected to premiere around September 2027.
