Diving straight into the main topic of discussion, from horror and thrilling anime series like The Summer Hikaru Died to gentle romantic-comedy like The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity, here are the seven best anime series you can binge throughout this week (April 20-24).
1 Agents of the Four Seasons
A still from Agents of the Four Seasons | Credits: Wit StudioA new addition to Crunchyroll’s anime collection this season, the Agent of the Four Seasons is a must-watch for any anime fan who likes a good, relaxing, and laid-back story. What’s more to love about the anime is that Wit Studio is behind the anime, so you already know it’s going to be a visually brilliant experience.
The ongoing story follows Hinagiku and Sakura – the Agent of Spring and her devoted bodyguard. With an endless winter spread around the world, Hinagiku returns after 10 years of her abduction, and spreads the season of spring, bringing new life and happiness to the world. The series is a real underrated gem of the spring 2026 anime season.
Where to watch: Crunchyroll.
2 The Summer Hikaru Died

Animated by CygamesPictures (CyPic), the series is filled with twists and turns, and you might just spot something eerie with those turns.
The Summer Hikaru Died is very lore-heavy, so we recommend that you keep your attention wide open with the episodes; you can easily miss something subtle but narratively crucial. The story follows two high school friends, Yoshiki and Hikaru. After Hikaru disappeared in the mountains, he returned to the village, but something else had taken over his body entirely
Where to watch: Netflix.
3 Your Lie in April

This one is a classic title many of you have heard of, but never really got the chance to sit down and watch; well, this is the time.
The anime focuses on themes of loss, trauma, and finding passion again, featuring a bittersweet ending that often leaves viewers deeply moved and in tears. Despite its emphasis on pessimistic themes, the series is considered a masterpiece, partially thanks to A-1 Pictures’ animation.
Where to watch: Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu.
4 Hell’s Paradise
If you’re thinking we forgot about the action anime seekers, think again. With Season 2 concluding recently, Hell’s Paradise is the perfect watch for you. Under the masterful animation of Studio MAPPA, the series follows Gabimaru, who’s sentenced to execution, but nothing seems to kill him.
Watch the anime as it follows his adventures along with others as they hunt for the Elixir of Life on Shinsenkyo – a legendary realm recently discovered southwest of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The series has action, adventure, drama, fantasy, and more – everything you’d want.
Where to watch: Crunchyroll.
5 The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity

The anime has a very relaxed and beautiful narrative that gives off the perfect vibe a romantic comedy should have.
The story follows Rintaro Tsumugi, a tall student from the all-boys Chidori Public High School who has low self-esteem, and Kaoruko Waguri, a beautiful, kind, and caring young student from the all-girls Kikyo Private Academy. Rintaro meets Kaoruko at his family bakery, and this is where it all begins.
Where to watch: Netflix.
6 Dorohedoro
A still from Dorohedoro | Credits: MAPPADorohedoro is one of the top picks for you if you’re into dark fantasy and sci-fi-themed anime. You know that the dark fantasy anime is going to be good when it’s MAPPA Studios behind the production – an animation studio widely renowned for dark anime series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. Furthermore, it has been a fan favourite returning recently with Season 2 of the anime.
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic urban setting, following Kaiman, a human born in the Hole with an immunity towards magic. However, he is in constant search of the one who cursed him and turned his head into a lizard’s head. Will he be able to find the one who cursed him?
Where to watch: Netflix and Crunchyroll.
7 Petals of Reincarnation

The action and supernatural anime series revolves around individuals who can unlock the dangerous abilities of historical figures.
It becomes dark very soon, as some of the “historical figures” in question might be controversial names who did certain disgraceful things in real life. Nevertheless, the high-stakes violent struggles of the narrative are very intriguing, and something you’d love if you are “that guy” who loves dark narratives.
