Will Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Have Multiplayer?

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced won’t feature a multiplayer mode, as the devs solely wanted to focus on the single-player aspect of this title. While the original 2013 release did have this feature, players will have to compromise this time with the Resynced version. If this brings any relief, several other exciting changes and additions have been made to fit the game according to modern standards.

AC Black Flag Resynced‘s Dev Explains Their Ambitions for the Game

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced devs had a clear vision in mind – the game should be sold as a strictly story-driven experience. They wanted to deliver more on the pirate-turned-Assassin Edward Kenway’s adventures in the Caribbean. In a pre-brief interview, the creative director, Paul Fu, said (via IGN):

With Resynced, we made a clear choice. It is a pure, story-driven adventure, and we are fully focused on Edward’s adventures in the Caribbean. As a result of this focus, we have elected to not have the multiplayer, or the DLC. Resynced is a 2026 take on the original legend, and for those of us who are curious, the original will still be available.

With that said, it’s pretty clear that the co-op gameplay you all enjoyed back in the day won’t be there in Resynced. Instead, you will be getting a single-player experience enriched with extra features, characters, and more. And if it doesn’t sit right with you, the devs have promised that Ubisoft’s original AC Black Flag game will remain in existence. It won’t be taken down.

Assassin’s Black Flag Resynced Expands the Story in a Major Way

Since the multiplayer isn’t available in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the devs are making sure that the story mode remains stacked with content. For starters, three new officers are joining the game, and you can recruit them at Jackdaw by completing their respective questlines. These characters are known by the names Lucy Baldwin, The Padre, and Tobias “Dead Man” Smith.

Apart from this, Matt Ryan, the original Edward Kenway voice actor, also returns for new scenes and additional missions in the game. These missions enhance the storyline with extra cutscenes, objectives, and unique encounters with other characters.

We did expect some major changes before the game’s release, and frankly, it seems like Ubisoft has managed to deliver them. With so much content now available in the game, it seems like nobody will use multiplayer mode at all. Do you agree with us? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
