The production committee behind Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity confirmed the delay on social media and the official website, and the new schedule is now locked in. According to Viz Media, Episode 49 will be released at 8:30 AM PT and 11:30 AM ET on October 19, 2026. However, in Japan, the TV Tokyo broadcast is at 12 AM JST, and the Japanese streaming release is at 12 PM JST on October 20.

Episode 50, the series finale, follows the same pattern a week later, hitting Hulu and Disney+ at 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET on October 26, with Japan getting its TV airing at 12 AM JST and streaming at 12 PM JST on October 27.

This marks the second schedule adjustment for this part since The Calamity premiered on July 25, so the production team isn’t shy about pausing when something needs more polish. Episodes 49 and 50 are technically the ninth and tenth episodes of The Calamity, the fourth and final part of this Bleach revival. Episode 48, “The End Two Worlds,” had just thrown Ichigo Kurosaki and Sosuke Aizen into an unlikely joint fight against Yhwach, so the cliffhanger U.S. fans were left on makes this delay sting that much harder.

Pierrot Films has leaned on similarly dense visual sequences throughout The Calamity, so a short pause to get the climax right tracks with how carefully this final part has been handled so far. Rather than leave the timeslot empty, TV Tokyo is filling the gap with a run of “Climax Selection” episodes, essentially curated recaps pulled from earlier in the story (via the official website). These re-airings are scheduled for September 19, September 26, October 5, and October 12, revisiting Episodes 7, 28, 46, and 48 to help viewers refresh their memory before the real conclusion lands.

It’s not the first schedule shuffle this anime has dealt with, and U.S. fans online have made their frustration known given how short this final season already is. Still, once Episode 50 finally airs on October 26, it will mark the end of the entire Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation, and by extension, the anime version of Bleach‘s manga as a whole. That’s a two-decade story reaching its actual final page, so a few extra weeks to get the ending right doesn’t feel like too much to ask.
