Todd Howard must address the long haul with Skyrim’s predecessor, Elder Scrolls 6, which has reached a new milestone in 2025. It has been over a decade since Skyrim launched and more than 6 years since its predecessor was announced.
However, as was pointed out by a fan, the Elder Scrolls 6’s announcement is now almost 2,403 days old, similar to how old Skyrim was when the latter was announced in 2018. Even Howard was baffled after realizing the amount of time that has gone by since the game was announced.
Fans want to see more of Elder Scrolls 6
Fans are dying to see more things from the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6, which is one of the highly anticipated games of this decade, next in line just to GTA 6. It is high time now that fans get to see more content and trailers from the upcoming game to re-establish its stronghold in the market.
The passage of time was shaken by the pandemic when the entire world stopped and time flew by. We are in 2025 right now, and it only seems like yesterday that we were celebrating 2020’s new year.
Howard seems to be in a similar boat to most people who feel the same way; even he fails to realize the amount of time that has passed ever since COVID-19 happened.

However, this is not a valid excuse to buy him any more time than he has already taken. It is high time Bethesda reveals more things about the upcoming game, or else there is a high probability people might completely forget about it.
There is still time for Bethesda to bounce back to glory
Nothing is lost at the moment, and Howard can still bounce back from this. Bethesda would need to come up with a strategy to reintroduce the game in a way where it manages to reignite the flames of wonder within fans without justifying the delay.
People have been waiting for an update for well over 6 years now, and they deserve to know more about the game. Bethesda has confirmed that the game had entered early development in August 2023 with early builds available in March 2024. There is also a chance that Elder Scrolls 6 might skip PlayStation.
Another trailer should be out as soon as possible, where fans might get a first look at the world that Howard is building behind closed doors at the moment. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
