Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains heavy spoilers for Creature Commandos.
The season finale of Creature Commandos introduced some new and old faces to make up for the line-up of Task Force M after the cerebral season finale saw one neck-breaking twist after the other. With all the shocking deaths this season, Season 2 could not get here any faster.
The original team consisted of six members, of which only three survived to see the team through in the finale. G.I. Robot was blown up by Circe, while Nina met her end at the hands of Princess Ilana. Further, Rick Flag Sr. is alive but taken out of the running thanks to the extensive injuries that he received in the fight with Clayface. Amanda Waller was kind enough to reimburse The Bride with some new members as part of her team.
The Bride has reunited with one of her old allies
At the end of the season finale, The Bride was left with just The Weasel and Doctor Phosphorous as the last standing members of Task Force M. However, Amanda Waller decided to bring in some other characters to refill the ranks of the team, including but not limited to King Shark, who had made his appearance in The Suicide Squad, Nosfereta, and Khalis.
Rounding out the team are none other than Doctor Phosphorous and The Weasel, along with a heavily beefed up and restored G.I. Robot. While each of their origin stories has been explored in one episode or the other, the new members of the team have some fans confused, given that they are more deep cuts from the DC canon.
King Shark, Nosfereta, and Khalis are the new additions to Creature Commandos
King Shark in Creature Commandos is the same character as the one who appeared in The Suicide Squad, played here by Karl Diedrich Bader as opposed to Sylvester Stalone. King Shark, or Nanaue, would mark the second character to make the jump from The Suicide Squad to Creature Commandos.
The existence of Nosferata, however, has some bigger ramifications for the DCU in general. Nosferata is closely associated with Great Ceaser, who was the result of a project called Project Moreau, which served as a predecessor for Project Cadmus, the famous covert ops science endeavor that yielded Superboy.
There have been multiple incarnations of Khalis in DC Comics, but usually, the character is considered to be an immortal mummy with some medical expertise. His existence on the Creature Commandos could point towards having at least one member of the team who could provide first aid and report back even if the entire team is killed.
Creature Commandos can be streamed on HBO Max.
