Orlando Bloom once ruled Middle-earth with a bow, a quiver, and the silkiest blonde hair ever seen on screen. But after a $956M film, he decided to peace out from The Lord of the Rings universe faster than Frodo bolting from Mordor. No more Legolas, no more elf drama, he was done. Or so we thought.
Now, Bloom’s suddenly singing a new tune, sparking buzz about a potential return. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s the allure of another epic project, but fans are already sharpening their arrows in excitement.
Orlando Bloom thought he was done with Legolas, but Middle-Earth is calling him back for another adventure
Legolas fired his last arrow in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, a blockbuster that crushed it with $956M. Back then, Orlando Bloom seemed done with Middle-earth, calling it the end of a very long chapter. Fast-forward to now, and he’s clearly having second thoughts. He revealed (via Movies.ie),
Bloom once said goodbye to New Zealand’s epic landscapes and Elven drama, calling his time as Legolas a “career-defining” run. Playing the bow-wielding Elf was an absolute privilege. Coming back for The Hobbit was a chance to dig into Legolas’ backstory. But another return? Nah, not happening, or so he thought.
The vibes have changed now. Speaking to Variety, Bloom revealed,
That’s right, he’s open to stepping back into Middle-earth as Warner Bros. gears up for a new live-action Lord of the Rings series. It kicks off in 2026 with The Hunt for Gollum, directed by Andy Serkis (yep, Gollum himself). Serkis even teased some AI magic to bring it all together.
Bloom’s not alone in this nostalgia trip. Ian McKellen, a.k.a. Gandalf also seems ready to grab his staff and dive back in. Scripts are still cooking, but the buzz is real.
Middle-earth is calling again, and it looks like Orlando Bloom’s picking up the phone.
Orlando Bloom gets roped into Katy Perry’s bitter $15M mansion legal battle
Orlando Bloom’s been roped into Katy Perry’s wild legal battle over a $15M mansion deal. He’s got a subpoena to testify in the messy trial about that Montecito estate.
It all kicked off in July 2020 when Perry dropped the cash for the place from Carl Westcott, the 1-800-Flowers guy. But days later, Westcott tried to pull a fast one, saying he wasn’t in his right mind due to his health issues.
The judge ruled in Perry’s favor in 2023, but now she’s chasing $6M in damages for repairs and lost rental income. Westcott’s family’s not happy, calling Perry’s move “heartless.”
The next round in court is set for February 2025.
