As fans are getting ready to say goodbye to another great WNBA season, women’s basketball will live on with Unrivaled, the off-season league founded by New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart and Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier.
The league’s third season will begin January 8, 2027, with some noticeable differences, such as multiple games on the road, away from their homebase of Miami, Florida. To prepare for the new season of Unrivaled, The Blast has compiled some information about what’s to come.
Season 3 Of Unrivaled Begins In January
The regular season of Unrivaled will begin on January 8 and continue through March 5. Unlike the last two seasons, the league is taking the show on the road for multiple games. In the first season, all games were played in Miami, but they changed it up a big for the second season. During the 2026 season, they played a few games in Philadelphia, and the semifinal games in Brooklyn.
This upcoming season will see the league traveling even more. To open the season, Unrivaled will play its first-ever games in Boston as part of “Unrivaled on Tour with Ally,” the league’s month-long cross-country bus tour.
“Massachusetts is proud to be home to the greatest sports fans in the world, and we are thrilled to welcome Unrivaled to Boston for its first-ever games at TD Garden,” said Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, according to a press release sent to The Blast. “This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the phenomenal athletes who are helping take women’s basketball to new heights and to showcase Boston as a city that embraces women’s sports. We can’t wait to tip off an exciting new season and welcome fans from across the region to cheer on some of the best basketball players around.”
Other cities on the tour — Inglewood, CA, Detroit, MI, San Francisco, CA, Brooklyn, NY, Minneapolis, MN, Houston, TX, and Philadelphia, PA.

Unrivaled Has New Partnerships For The 2027 Season
Courtesy of UnrivaledUnrivaled hit the ground running in the first season, securing multiple big named partnerships. They added more last season, and even more for this upcoming season.
In September, adidas announced a multi-year partnership with Unrivaled, which makes them the official uniform and performance apparel partner of the league. The brand will provide on-court uniforms and performance apparel for players. The partnership joins two organizations together to help shape the future of women’s basketball.
“We continue our journey to be the next generation brand of basketball,” said Max Staiger, Global General Manager of adidas Basketball, according to a press release sent to The Blast. “Unrivaled shares our belief for what’s possible in women’s basketball and investing in athletes is the best way to grow the game. We’re excited to partner with the league to advance that vision through innovation, athlete empowerment, and new opportunities that grow the game at every level.”
Candace Parker, President of adidas Women’s Basketball added, “adidas has a long history of investing in the athletes and moments that define this game. Through this partnerhip, adidas will bring elite performance innovation to Unrivaled athletes while continuing to invest in the future of women’s basketball at every level.”
Also new this year is a partnership with GEICO, announced just a few days ago. The insurance brand will be the league’s official auto, property, and commercial insurance partner, and will receive prominent placement on the back of all eight Unrivaled club uniforms.
“GEICO has a long history of showing up in sports in memorable ways, and we’re excited to welcome them to Unrivaled through a partnership that will pair two undeniably unique and creative brands,” said Matt Drew, Unrivaled’s chief revenue officer. “This partnership gives us countless opportunities to engage fans in ways that feel authentic to both brands while significantly boosting the league’s exposure through GEICO’s tried-and-true sponsorship marketing excellence.”
Arianna Orpello, GEICO’s chief marketing officer added, “Unrivaled is a disruptive league, and GEICO has been a disruptive brand for 90 years. Napheesa and Olivia are among the best talent in basketball, and we’re happy to cover them on and off the court. We’re looking forward to a deep and meaningful partnership with Unrivaled.”
Breanna Stewart Shared Unrivaled’s Backstory With The Blast Exclusively Earlier This Year
Loomelic MediaDuring Sport Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year event earlier this year in Las Vegas, Stewart chatted exclusively with The Blast on the red carpet about how the idea for the league came about at a dinner with co-founder Napheesa Collier and her husband Alex.
“We went to Del Frisco’s in New York City one night and it was actually [Napheesa’s] husband Alex who proposed the idea to me and from there, we were like, how do we make this happen,” she told The Blast exclusively at XS Nightclub inside Wynn Las Vegas. “Phee and I are both moms, we’re both players that played overseas, but we wanted to be able to keep people home and in market and really build their brands and work on their games.”
She also shared that they want to take the league to a place they’ve never been before.
“Obviously, it’s a 3-on-3 league and we’re having the best players, we’re marketing and getting content on the court and off the court all the time and that’s the biggest part is the storytelling,” Stewart said. “Sometimes when it’s the off season, you can’t find players for x amount of months and now you can see them every single day and what they’re doing – the fun stuff and the not so fun stuff, but people are able to be in the know.”
The Liberty star also wanted to share her gratitude for everyone who believed in them from the start.
“Shout out to Ally our founding partner. We have some big ones – Samsung, Sephora, Vistaprint, Under Armor, so many more,” she said. “And we really appreciate them all for supporting us and honestly believing in us because it’s hard when you start something that’s never been done before and they’ve been there for us since the start and continue to be behind us.”
Stewart and Collier were named Innovators of the Year by Sports Illustrated for their work in Unrivaled.
