Peel Regional Police have finally closed the loop on a robbery from earlier this year in Mississauga.

On March 7, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a hotel in the area of Hurontario St. and Derry Rd.

At the time, a man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by three people, who then fled the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Abdoulkader Abdi, 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with robbery and various firearm-related charges.

In total, he was dinged with eight offences, including robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose. Abdi was out on bail at the time of the incident. 

The other two assailants fled the scene.

But officers from Peel 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have now identified and arrested two additional suspects, a July 30 release reported.

Latef El Din, 30, of Calgary, and Kimberly MacIntryre, 28, of Mississauga, are both charged with robbery.

Teen nabbed for attempted stabbing in Oshawa

A teenaged boy faces multiple knife-related charges after he allegedly attempted to stab another teen in Oshawa.

On Tuesday at approximately 7:50 p.m., Durham regional Police officers responded to an armed person call at a McDonald’s restaurant located at 2585 Thoroughbred St. in the Windfields area northwest of downtown.

Police claim the two teens were involved in an altercation when the13-year-old boy allegedly brandished a knife and attempted to stab a 16-year-old boy who was able to flee. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

The assailant fled the area prior to police arrival. But officers subsequently located a suspect at his residence where he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the residence and allegedly found the knife used in the incident.

The 13-year-old Oshawa boy is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.

Paint thrown at Jewish business in Hamilton

A Hamilton man was arrested for an alleged hate-related mischief incident targeting a Jewish business.

On Sunday, a then unknown man attended the Jewish Federation of Hamilton property and threw a bottle of white paint at the building. The paint splattered on several areas of signage and the main entrance.

An investigation was conducted by the Hate Crime Unit. Consequently, a 51-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.

“The Hamilton Police Service recognizes the significant impact that hate-related incidents have on victims and the broader community,” police said in a release. “Allegations that a criminal offence was motivated by bias, prejudice, or hate are thoroughly investigated and, where appropriate, presented to the courts as an aggravating factor at sentencing.”

His name was not released.

Suspected booze trafficking ring smashed

Halton cops have smashed a suspected booze trafficking ring, resulting in multiple arrests.

Halton Police Service, in partnership with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario and the Toronto Police, dismantled an alleged liquor trafficking operation that was responsible for distributing more than $1 million in stolen alcohol across the Greater Toronto Area.

An investigation began July 2025 into a group believed to be purchasing and reselling stolen liquor from various LCBO locations throughout the GTA. Over the course of the investigation, police and LCBO investigators identified several individuals believed to be involved in trafficking the hooch and linked them to 10 separate organized theft groups.

These theft groups are alleged to have supplied the traffickers with stolen liquor valued at more than $1.3 million. Most of the stolen liquor was sold from the accused’s residence or delivered directly to buyers across the GTA.

On Nov. 20 of last year, members of the Halton and Toronto Police executed search warrants at a residence in North York where investigators seized approximately $120,000 in currency, a 2018 Toyota Corolla, a 2021 Toyota RAV4, a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette, and 126 bottles of whiskey.

“Our community deserves to shop and work in safe environments,” said Raf Skwarka, Inspector of HRPS Investigative Services. “The individuals involved in this operation showed a deliberate disregard for the law and for the safety of others. Thanks to the collaborative efforts in this investigation, the accused have been brought to justice. We will continue to prioritize public safety by targeting organized retail crime.”

Parminder Sidhu, 52, of North York, Rajinder Sidhu, 56, of North York, and Navdeep Singh, 25, of North York, are all charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, and participate in a criminal organization.

Earlier this month, all three accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto. Sentences ranged from a custodial term of imprisonment of two years less a day to periods of probation, and included the forfeiture of seized alcohol, two vehicles and the $120,000 in cash.
