Police responded to a call around 10 p.m. on June 16, 2024, from the Port Kells residence that Dunn, 30, shared with her boyfriend. They found Dunn suffering from life-threatening injuries. She had been stabbed four times, and was found with defensive wounds on her hands and an 18-centimetre deep gash in her abdomen. She later died in hospital. Mann’s DNA was found on a knife that also had Dunn’s blood on it, and he was arrested near the scene.
