Starting things off is Basculegion, a Water/Ghost type that proves to be a strong pick in Pokémon Champions. It’s a Pokémon that not only holds up well into the late game but also performs effectively as a lead. The Pokémon will either run Mystic Water or Choice Scarf. Its base 78 speed and 112 attack may not look impressive on paper, but its 120 GP gives it a solid bulk, allowing it to play a bit more aggressively than you might expect. Basculegion is arguably one of the safest lead options in the game, as the Choice Scarf allows it to outpace the vast majority of the roster, and its Ghost typing grants it full immunity to Fake Out.
6 Kingambit
Kingambit. | Credits: NintendoKingambit boasts an impressive bulk with 100 GP, 120 Defense, and 85 Special Defensive, while its 135 Attack stats only climb higher when Intimidate or Icy Wind hits the field. In a metagame where Icy Wind is thrown around for speed, Kingambit constantly finds opportunities to threaten a 2+ Sucker Punch backed by Black Glasses. Even bulkier neutral targets like Garchomp aren’t safe, as a Black Glasses-boosted Sucker Punch can threaten a one-hit KO. It’s genuinely a scary Pokémon, and one of the very few Steel-types available in the game.
5 Archaludon
Archaludon. | Credits: NintendoArchaludon is the jack of all trades in Pokémon Champions. As a Dragon/Steel type with the Stamina ability, which raises its Defense every time it takes a hit. This makes it increasingly difficult to wear down, especially with an already solid 130 Defense stat. What makes it truly dangerous is its access to Body Press, allowing it to convert those defensive boosts directly into offensive power. On top of that, its signature Electro Shot charges on the first turn by raising its Special Attack, then fires on the second. However, in Rain, the charge is skipped entirely, allowing Archaludon to boost and attack in a single turn.
4 Sinistcha
Sinistcha. | Credits: Nintendo Sinistcha is a fantastic Ghost/Grass-type Pokémon that you’ll want to add to your roster immediately. Its Hospitality ability heals its teammate for 25% of their max HP upon switching in, which is phenomenal for bulky setup Pokémon that you need every bit of longevity they can get. This opens up incredibly strong rotational plays; you can switch in Sinistcha and then switch out to Incineroar to pull off Intimidates and healing. If that wasn’t enough, you also get access to Rage Powder.
3 Sneasler
Sneasler. | Credits: NintendoSneasler is arguably one of the most despised Pokémon in Pokémon Champions, and for a good reason, because it’s absolutely busted. Its signature move, Dire Claw, carries a 30% chance to inflict either paralysis, sleep, or poison on contact, which makes every interaction with it a gamble you don’t want to take. Getting paralyzed means your speed is permanently halved for the rest of the match, and getting put to sleep is worse as your Pokémon stops moving entirely. On top of that, Sneasler is one of the fastest PokemonPokémonin the game and has multiple ways to trigger its Unburden ability.
2 Garchomp
Garchomp. | Credits: NintendoGarchomp brings offensive power to any team, whether it’s running a Choice Scarf or Life Orb to hit as hard as possible. What makes it even more valuable is its access to Mega Evolution, which is Mega Garchomp Z, that shifts it into a Special Attacker role, allowing it to reach a blistering 151 Speed stat. The trade-off is losing its Ground-typing, but the sheer speed and power compensate for everything. Bringing Garchomp is a three-for-one deal in the game that can’t be missed.
1 Incineroar
Incineroar. | Credits: NintendoRounding off this list is Incineroar, which is one of the most well-rounded Pokémon in Pokémon Champions. It brings Intimidate to the table alongside Parting Shot, which gives it utility as both a support and an offensive threat. While it did lose access to Knock Off, it barely matters in a format where Pokémon are holding items that can’t be knocked off, so the nerf is insignificant. Its Attack stat is also massive, and its sheer versatility means it can fit into any team.
| Pokémon | Ranking |

| Garchomp | 2 |

| Sinistcha | 4 |
