Coming in at No. 1 on the world’s top hotel list was G.H. Universal Hotel in Bandung, Indonesia. The No. 2 spot went to Hotel Colline de France in Gramado, Brazil, with Hotel Sporting Family Hospitality in Livigno, Italy, rounding out the top three.

TripAdvisor also puts out a Best of the Best Things To Do list and under the heading of Top Experiences — Canada, the top 10 rankings included the Victoria Whale and Wildlife Cruise at No. 2; Victoria Guided Food and History Tour at No. 5; and Vancouver’s The Grand Bicycle Tour, by Cycle City Tours, earning the No. 7 spot.

For the Best of the Best Things to Do — Top Attractions Canada, Victoria’s Butchart Gardens earned the second spot on the list with Stanley Park coming in at No. 5.

The TripAdvisor lists celebrate “the highest level of excellence in travel.” The honours are awarded to locations that garner a “high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period.” According to TripAdvisor, out of its eight million listings, fewer than one per cent achieve that milestone.
