Kevin Hart was at the receiving end of brutal roasts from his celebrity friends during Netflix’s live event, The Roast of Kevin Hart. He was previously the host of The Roast of Tom Brady in 2024 and recently appeared in the streamer’s stand-up special, Funny AF with Kevin Hart. The chaotic night saw many celebrities making absolutely hilarious personal jokes at Hart’s expense. They had zero mercy, and the show witnessed several wild moments.

The show opened with Tom Brady‘s set, followed by Usher’s performance of Let It Burn. The event was hosted by Shane Gillis and featured the likes of Jeff Ross, Chelsea Handler, Lizzo, Pete Davidson, Draymond Green, Big Jay Oakerson, Tony Hinchcliffe, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor. 5 Tom Brady Returns for Revenge

After Kevin Hart roasted Tom Brady previously, it was time for Brady to return the favor. He made a surprise cameo, as Hart was complaining about how boring Brady’s roast was, even assuring audiences that his roast would be much better. The former NFL star did not hold back as he brought up Hart’s scandalous 2017 affair. He joked:

But I do have a few words for you before I return to my affairs in Las Vegas. Oh, wait, I’m talking about affairs in Las Vegas. Was that off? Not supposed to talk about affairs in Vegas? I think I broke another rule. F**k it. I talked about it.

It was particularly brutal as he made it in front of Eniko Hart. When Brady entered the stage, he made another brutal jab about Hart’s father, sharing, “Well, unlike your real dad, I actually showed up.” He further made fun of Hart’s size by bringing him a child-sized New York Knicks jersey. He joked, “It fits you.”

4 Jeff Ross & Teyana Taylor Target Kevin Hart’s Career

‘Roastmaster General’ Jeff Ross appeared in a red leather outfit, which was inspired by Eddie Murphy’s costume in the movie Delirious. He addressed the outfit at the start of his set, sharing, “Tonight, I’m dressed like your idol, Eddie Murphy. Because he’s not coming. Your idol doesn’t give a f**k about you.”

He then attacked Hart’s choice of movies, connecting it to his father, who was an addict and walked out on his family when he was young. Ross shared, “Kevin, your dad walked out on you, and that was awful. And then I went and saw one of your movies, and I walked out on you, too.” Ross, who recently announced that he was cancer-free, further doubled down on his attack on Hart’s career. He joked:

Maybe you’re spending too much time in the gym working out. It’s arm day. It’s leg day. When is it script day? Do you even read these pieces of sh*t before you say yes? Come on, spell Jumanji!

One Battle After Another actress Teyana Taylor made a celebrity cameo at the event and roasted Hart’s career with a fun tweak on her movie name, “One bomb after another.” She further said, “I mean that would just be so cruel, I would never do that, Kev. That’s Rotten Tomatoes’ job”.

3 The Rock’s Wild Compliment for Kevin Hart’s Wife

Dwayne Johnson appeared as a surprise guest during the live event. He brought plenty of hilarious jokes about Hart, which showed their years of close friendship. However, the biggest scene-stealer during his roast was a joke about Hart’s wife, Eniko Hart. It even evoked an instant reaction from Hart, who said, “What the f**k!”

While praising the beautiful celebrities on the stage, Johnson made a wild compliment about Eniko Hart. He shared, “I want to just take a moment to give a shout out to all the ladies up here on this dais. You all look beautiful, magnificent, sexy. You know who else looks sexy? Kevin’s wife, Eniko.”

The Rock continued with the jokes, sharing that she deserved “an Academy Award for pretending she likes to f**k you.” Chelsea Handler joined in on the jokes, sharing, “Don’t you think it’s time for Eniko to be with somebody that is bigger than her?”

Johnson further made a joke about getting a life-sized Kevin Hart tattoo. He then turned to Eniko and said, “I’ll show you later. Kidding. She’s already seen it!” When Hart got a chance to respond, he jokingly confronted Johnson, sharing, “Why would you say that about my fucking wife? I want to talk to you later.” Johnson responded that it was Hart who gave him permission to say anything he wanted.

2 Katt Williams and Kevin Hart Put Their Feud to Rest

Kevin Hart and Katt Williams apparently made peace with each other after years of feud between them. In 2024, Williams said some not-so-nice things about Hart and even went on to call him an “industry plant”. He accused Hart of stealing the roles that could’ve gone to him. However, Williams appeared during the live event, making fun of Hart in front of him.

He joked, “I’m surprised they invited me. That’s how little star power you have. They had to start inviting your enemies. I said, ‘I hate him.’ They said, ‘Come anyway.'” He jokingly insinuated Hart’s lack of comedic talent. He said at one point, “Kevin, you gonna hear some things tonight that you’re not familiar with. Those things are called punchlines.”

He also went after Hart’s relationship with Netflix, joking, “I meant that the head of Netflix literally has his whole hand up Kevin’s ass and can make him do anything.” Following Williams’ set, Hart came on stage to shake his hand and hug him in front of the audience. Hart shared:

This is live television to put our f**king beef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace. I want to be a brother. I want to be a friend, Katt. I want to move on. Can we move on?

However, that didn’t stop Hart from roasting Williams back. He made fun of Williams’ previous claim that Hart stole movies from him by mentioning his cameo in Eddie Murphy’s Razzie-nominated movie, Norbit.

1 The Wild Exchange Between Shane Gillis & Chelsea Handler

Among all the mean-spirited jokes on the show, one joke kick-started heated debates among fans. It was born out of the show host Shane Gillis‘s brutal jab at comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler. He brought up her Jewish background and made a joking yet provocative comment on Handler getting multiple abortions. He shared:

Chelsea is a Zionist. Not saying that’s a good or bad thing. Speaking of dead kids, she’s a big fan of abortions. Chelsea’s been scraped more times than the grill at Benihana.

He did not stop there and announced to the audience how Handler had attended a dinner at Jeffrey Epstein’s house. It was something Handler had previously admitted, along with naming fellow guests like Katie Couric, Woody Allen, and Prince Andrew. Gillis said:

Chelsea Handler went to dinner at Jeffrey Epstein’s house in 2010. Look it up, there’s articles. It wasn’t like a big party, there were like seven people there. It was like Prince Andrew and Woody Allen were there.

Handler shot back, bringing up Gillis’s controversial anti-Asian slur that got him kicked out of SNL. She shared, “Shane, just so you know, Judaism and Zionism are two different things. Just like how Chinatown and Koreatown are two different things, but your favorite slur works in both places.” While the two seemed to move past the brutal exchange, fans began digging into Handler’s past.
