Netflix Confirms Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Streaming Date in the US

The confirmation came straight from Netflix’s official X account, which posted a new teaser. It’s a notable shift, since Crunchyroll has held the film’s exclusive US streaming rights since its July 28 domestic debut, alongside a digital purchase option available on Apple TV, Prime Video, Google Play, YouTube, and Fandango.

The platform’s own anime division had already brought the movie to select Asian markets that same month, skipping Japan, mainland China, and India, and it quietly became one of the platform’s most-watched non-English films there within its first couple of weeks, so a wider push always felt like a matter of when, not if.

Come September 28, US subscribers will get the film with its original Japanese cast intact, plus the same English dub that played in theaters, so there’s no need to hunt down a specific audio version once it lands.

Netflix hasn’t said which other countries join the US on launch day, though a fuller list is expected closer to the premiere. It also helps that all four prior seasons of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series already live on the platform, so newcomers can binge straight through to the Hashira Training Arc before jumping into the movie. Part 2 still doesn’t have a release window from Ufotable or Aniplex, so this Netflix debut may be the best distraction fans have while they wait for the Demon Slayer Corps’ final stand against Muzan to continue.

How Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle Became a Box-Office Giant

Before it ever streamed anywhere, the movie spent over a year rewriting what an anime film could do at the box office. It opened in Japan on July 18, 2025, then hit US and Canadian theaters on September 12, pulling in a jaw-dropping $70 million opening weekend, the biggest domestic debut ever for an anime release. From there, the numbers just kept climbing, and the film even returned to select North American theaters in March 2026 for a SCREENX re-release that squeezed out a bit more revenue.

Ufotable’s adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s final story arc eventually crossed $793.5 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo), comfortably passing Mugen Train’s $486 million and making the movie one of the highest-grossing Japanese films ever produced, anime or otherwise. What made it hit so hard wasn’t just the box office math, though there’s plenty of that to unpack. Director Haruo Sotozaki and the animators at Ufotable treated the Infinity Castle Arc like the finale it always was, packing Akaza’s return, Shinobu and Doma’s brutal clash, and Zenitsu’s rematch with Kaigaku into one relentless two-and-a-half-hour sprint.

The English dub even pulled in Channing Tatum, a self-described Demon Slayer superfan, to voice a supporting role alongside longtime cast members Zach Aguilar and Abby Trott as Tanjiro and Nezuko. It’s the first of a planned three-film trilogy covering the final chapters of the manga, distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing, and it left theaters with a 98% critics’ and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes (as of September 14, 2026) and a fanbase already counting down the days to Part 2.
