Tatsuki Fujimoto is on the Path to Becoming the Next Hayao Miyazaki as Kaiju No. 8 and Look Back Win Major Awards

While he is celebrated for his slasher-style series Chainsaw Man, Tatsuki Fujimoto is multifarious. The mangaka has worked on several notable projects that deserve their due recognition.

The year 2024 is precisely a boon for all the creators including Fujimoto. This is especially true for his film which is making the rounds on the Internet. But there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Based on the one-shot manga of the same name, Look Back is soaring heights in more ways than one. The film has garnered a positive reception along with accolades. Not only that, Kaiju No. 8 and the film’s success cemented the Japanese animation industry’s glory.

But most of all, it exemplifies the splendid and stellar nature of the studios in reviving manga. Both film and the anime are markers of brilliance and finesse. And it would be safe to say that Fujimoto might be on par with Hayao Miyazaki with his film’s latest feat.

Through its visuals, hues, and storyline Look Back captures the grappling conflict of an artist’s dream. The story weaves horror, mystery, and thriller intricately through the dynamic of friendship. It is nothing short of jarring in its portrayal of art, creativity, and life.

The film is second to none in underlining the complexities and profundity within the characters. From creativity to conflict, it is a wholesome portrayal of the essence of life and art. But the movie is setting milestones with its achievements and feats.

In a similar vein, Kaiju No. 8 outlines the blend of fantasy and reality through the means of dreams. Kafka Hibino’s aspirations are crushed when he transforms into a Kaiju. His hybrid nature resounds the conflict and duality perfectly in the anime.

While both Look Back and Kaiju No. 8 are different, they share a similitude. This is evident in both being masterpieces in their respective genres and their recent feats are a perfect example of that.

Recently, both won the Filmark Award in the category of Best Anime Series as well as Best Anime Movie. This is delightful for both Fujimoto and Naoya Matsumoto.

Above all, Look Back’s recent win has solidified the Japanese animation industry as a prime example of perfection. But most of all, it puts Fujimoto on par with the Studio Ghibli animator.

With Look Back’s commercial success, the film is soaring heights in every possible way. This is especially true for its Oscar Nomination under the category of Best Anime Feature Film. But we have barely scratched the surface with this one.

With the movie bagging the Filmark Award and an Oscar nomination, it is on par with Hayao Miyazaki. As of now, Studio Ghibli stands as a prime example of fine and impeccable animation. It currently holds two Oscars for Spirited Away and The Boy and The Heron.

Studio Durian’s win would prove pivotal for young and budding filmmakers and animators. On top of that, it would spotlight Fujimoto’s work and set a benchmark for future animators. By and by, the film is an example of fine storytelling and stellar animation.
