Now with James Gunn taking over the mantle and deciding to reboot the entire storyline, times have changed. David Corenswet was signed as the last son of Krypton for the upcoming 2025’s Superman.

Fan wars, especially over their favorite portrayals, are a common feature of any fandom let alone the massive superhero genre. However, one fan decided to single-handedly remove all debate by posting a heartwarming fanart that featured four actors who played the iconic superhero.

A comment mentioned The Flash director Andy Muschietti and how he would be ‘proud’ of the art. Previously, the filmmaker’s name was linked with the potential sequel for Cavill’s 2013 film, according to Comic Book News.

News of the new casting provoked mixed reactions from fans, most saddened by the end of the Argylle actor’s reign. The upcoming star also spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his aspirations for the role.

On a separate Redditt chain fans discussed the portrayal of Hoechlin in Superman & Lois, calling it the best adaptation. Many comments praised the actor and his authentic performance in the show.

On the other hand, most classic movie-goers would recall seeing Reeves portray the iconic DC hero. He debuted in the role through Richard Donner’s seminal 1978 classic and later three more sequels.

The Black Fox actor had to accomplish the hard task of overcoming George Reeves‘ shadow, who popularized the superhero via Adventures of Superman in the 1950s. All four actors, along with others aptly portrayed the character according to their requirements and perspectives.

It is up to the Twisters actor to step into the big shoes and establish his legacy. Gunn revealed that they had wrapped the shooting for the film and it is expected to release on 11 July 2025.
