As a studio, they have established their own style and made themselves synonymous with smash-hit productions. Hence, becoming a go-to name if you are looking for a studio that takes anime adaptation extremely seriously and resonates with the same essence as the source material.

However, the anime studio has found itself in quite a predicament because of the requests from the fans to work on a Bleach remake. As a result, their attention has been shifting focus from two other renowned projects that have been on hiatus for quite some time.

Demand for Bleach Remake Puts Studio Pierrot Finds Itself In a Tough Spot

In the early 2000s, the anime industry featured The Big Three, which featured Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto, and Tite Kubo’s Bleach. The Shonen series did not take time to become a fan-favorite series, becoming eternally close to them.

While Kubo-Sensei’s magnum opus has been considered great by fans, even the most passionate community members would agree that the show had taken a serious hit in popularity. The series was plagued by unavoidable circumstances which made him make the drastic decision to end the title within a year or two.

Hence, it became a black sheep among The Big Three, but it received immense popularity when it returned with the Thousand-Year Blood War. In reaction to the sequel’s popularity, fans have been demanding a remake of the original show that will boost the original show’s IMDb rating, as it comfortably sits with a rating of 8.2/10 on the platform.

The fans’ demand for a remake is justified as the series ticks all the boxes that convince Studio Pierrot to work on the anime’s remake, taking its popularity up by a notch. However, this demand puts them in a predicament because the studio already has a lot on their plates.

Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover, which has become a popular title among the new-gen series, especially after My Hero Academia’s disappointing ending has made fans look up to the series. As a result, fans of the show have been impatiently waiting for the official announcement of when the show would make its return.

Likewise, Masashi Kishimoto’s sequel/spinoff series, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, has been on a hiatus since 2023. The fans are curious about how their favorite moments in the manga would look in the anime adaptation, especially with the studio’s animation and dedication to making a series that resonates with the source material’s essence to its core.

Why Making A Bleach Remake Would Make More Sense for Studio Pierrot?

There’s no denying that Black Clover and Boruto have been great new-gen series that have the potential to become one of the many faces of the anime industry. However, making a remake of the classic series would just make more sense, and it has all the right reasons to do so.

Tite Kubo’s magnum opus featured Ichigo Kurosaki, who had been an interesting protagonist. However, unlike Monkey D. Luffy and Naruto Uzumaki, he could not afford the luxury of an evergreen fan following that would protect him and the series from severe criticism.

Unlike its competitors, the show did not age well despite having immense potential to do so. Consequently, the show was plagued with tons of fillers and even beat Naruto, which is notorious for having one too many fillers. These factors led to the anime adaptation getting canceled, but the introduction of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War changed it all.

The Shonen series has risen in popularity again, closely following the manga to ensure the story is well-loved by the community. Focusing on three different titles would be too much of a burden for the series, as the animators would have to work overtime, to the point that they would sleep in the studio itself.

Well, jokes apart, working on three titles would be too much for the animators because making them overwork would gradually affect the quality of all the shows. It would be wise for the studio to work on the remake and work on Black Clover because these two series have been the talk of the town.

Hence, it would be wise for the anime studio to ride on the wave of success while Kishimoto-Sensei’s spin-off takes a rest until it becomes a sensation following the internet-shattering storyline featured in Two Blue Vortex.
