The Apprentice star, Omarosa Manigault Newman has been a very important player in the life of Donald Trump. Having played the role of the director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison under him in 2017, and being one of the favorite contestants in the first season of the reality show, to say that they have history would be an understatement.

However, a lot changed in their dynamic after she was fired from her position. With her spilling all of her true thoughts about Trump in her memoir, Unhinged, Manigault Newman went as far as to call the former president “racist and cognitively impaired.

With all this, it is not surprising that she is not enforcing Trump in the upcoming elections. However, voters seemed to be very wary about her motivations for the same.

The Apprentice‘s Omarosa Manigault Newman Will Not Be By Donald Trump’s Side This Time

Recently, Omarosa Manigault Newman gave an interview with Variety, where she was candid about her thoughts on the recent political landscape. Specifically, she talked about her opinions surrounding the upcoming presidential election, coming from someone who was publicly linked to Donald Trump.

A one point in the interview, she was asked about the former president being untouched in the eyes of the public when it comes to holding blame. She started by explaining that she does not think that he has been left unaffected, pointing out that he lost the election against Joe Biden.

I wouldn’t call losing an election Teflon. Joe Biden is the President. Donald Trump has been defeated before, and I think what’s grating on his nerves the most is that this [next] defeat may come at the hands of a woman of color. He reserves his most vitriolic attacks for women of color. To lose to a woman of color would be devastating to his ego. 

Manigault Newman then exclaimed that he lost an election before, and the possibility of it happening again would be a lot different for him. The reason for this, according to her, isn’t just because he would be losing a second time, but because it would be against Kamala Harris, who is a woman of color.

He opted to go to the dark side. That’s why I have no reservation in — I guess I’m saying this for the first time — completely, 100 percent endorsing Kamala Harris for President.

While this could have been enough to understand that Manigault Newman would not be voting for Trump, she took it a step further and made her alliance concrete. For the first time, she stated that she would be enforcing Harris for these elections.

Omarosa Manigault Newman’s Change in Alliance Has Not Been Well-Received

While many could assume that Omarosa Manigault Newman’s enforcing Kamala Harris and walking away from Donald Trump is a sign of her personal trials with the former president, some have their reservations. Many voters on Reddit are not impressed by her public declaration of a change in opinion, almost thinking it to be performative.

Some pointed out that she had her loyalties to the former president when it suited her and is now changing her mind as her requirements change. Others pointed out just how much support she showed towards Trump when she was on his side. Few voters even went as far as to say that Manigault Newman always felt this way about him and was only vocal about it when she felt it to be required by the public.

While there is no way to actually know the truth of the situation, it is safe to say that Manigault Newman completely changing her alliance has caused many voters to be wary of her intentions.
