Ghislaine Maxwell went full diva after she claimed a fellow inmate stole her sweater, prompting an hours-long lockdown.

Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend and accomplice reported her favourite sweater being swiped, resulting in FPC Bryan in Texas to be placed on lockdown, the Daily Mail reported.
The socialite-turned-sex trafficker told authorities at the minimum-security federal prison that someone had taken her zip-up fleece, which she bought for $30 at the facility’s commissary, according to the outlet.
The result — hundreds of prisoners were ordered back to their dorms where they remained for hours as guards conducted a search of the compound.
What actually happened?
Turned out, one of Maxwell’s pals on the inside came forward, claiming she found the sweater on a bench but just hadn’t returned it yet.
“Max was saying she had her ID badge and important papers in the pockets. But nobody had stolen anything. This lady had picked it up to give it back to her,” a source told the Mail of the February incident.

“It was all an innocent mistake but they still kept everyone locked down for four or five hours for their investigation.”
The literal insider added: “They do this a couple of times a month for a fight, a medical emergency or a random count — but never for a lost sweater.”

The Federal Bureau of Prisons said it could not comment on individual inmates but insisted to the outlet that staff members were prohibited from providing preferential treatment to any prisoners.
“Any deviation from this standard undermines public trust and the fair administration of justice,” spokesman Donald Murphy said. “Violators may be subject to disciplinary actions, including removal from federal service and criminal prosecution.”
However, the source pointed out that while “sunbathing isn’t allowed,” Maxwell “sits on the benches with her sleeves and shorts rolled up.”
They added: “It’s one rule for the prison queen and another for everyone else.”

Inmates typically share four-bed cubicles with two other criminals selected by prison counselors, with the fourth bunk left empty — but Maxwell shares her living space with just one other person.
“She uses the extra space for her typewriter, which is another thing that nobody else is allowed to keep in their room,” said the source.
“It’s an old electric IBM typewriter. She carries it around with her from the unit to her job at education.”
“When she’s not in the classroom, she leaves a little sign on it saying ‘do not touch.'”
“She’s using it to write her book – the one she thinks will exonerate her.”

Fight for freedom
In recent weeks, Maxwell has been once again angling for a deal to get her out of the all-female facility that is considered one of the cushiest and safest lockups in the entire federal network, according to the Mail.
The Supreme Court rejected Maxwell’s appeal last October but a presidential pardon is a possibility given that some Republican members of the U.S. House Oversight Committee are open to it, the Sun’s Brad Hunter previously reported.

In exchange, Big Max would have to share with Congress all the evilness she knows about Epstein.

However, that didn’t go over well in February when she refused to answer “any substantive questions,” and instead invoked her Fifth Amendment privilege.
Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years on June 28, 2022, over five federal charges including the sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
For now, she will remain behind bars until her scheduled release date of July 17, 2037.
