The Casual difficulty is the most accessible option in Pragmata. It’s been designed for players who want to experience the story of Hugh and Diana, explore the world, and interact with characters without worrying about combat challenges.

This mode is suitable for newcomers or those less familiar with action games, as well as anyone who is looking for a relaxed experience after a long day. Enemies will deal less damage, weapons are easier to come by, and you’re far less likely to die in combat. For the most part, handling threats will also be easy in the mode, making it easy to progress through the game without much resistance.

2. Standard

The Standard difficulty is the ideal way to experience Pragmata. It’s the mode Capcom recommends for players who just want to enjoy action games, offering a balanced level of challenge. It’s well-suited for average players who want to feel engaged and rewarded without the game becoming overly punishing. You will face some resistance in combat and might die sometimes, but not constantly.

Managing your resources and health will be crucial, and certain boss fights can be challenging but never overwhelming. The game will punish careless mistakes and push you to make strategic calls. If things become too difficult, the game-over screen will offer you a chance to drop to Casual, but be aware that this switch is permanent; you cannot return to Standard afterwards.

3. Lunatic

Lunatic is Pragmata’s highest difficulty setting, built for players seeking a true test of skill and sense of accomplishment after overcoming intense challenges. Enemies are significantly stronger, and a wider range of units will be available from the very beginning, alongside access to additional weapon upgrades.

Every mistake in this mode can be costly and end your journey. Unlike other modes, you can’t switch out of Lunatic difficulty once you’ve started your playthrough, which makes it a true trial by fire. It’s also not available from the start, as you will first need to complete the main story once, then start a fresh new game; it is not available through New Game+.
