It was initially thought that he might survive, but his condition worsened in the days after the attack and he died in hospital

“The investigation has made considerable progress, with investigators believing this was a targeted attack,” said RCMP Cpl. James Grandy in an update released Wednesday.

Investigators are still working to identify who was responsible and are hoping to talk to anyone who has information but hasn’t talked to police, said Grandy.

Randhawa’s mother said in a statement that her son was a “remarkable individual” who was accomplished at golf, building motorcycles, carpentry and mechanics.

“We owe it to his memory to bring those responsible for his untimely death to justice, so Ted can finally rest in peace.”

Grandy said the stabbing was in a busy area with many businesses and passersby. “The likelihood of someone seeing or knowing more about this is high,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Penticton RCMP.
