Ottawa police are reminding residents to lock their doors after a man was charged for entering a home and taking a shower in the east end.

“The man entered the residence through an unlocked door before taking a shower,” police said in a post on the social media site X. “He had mistakenly thought this was the residence of someone known to him.”

Police said there were no injuries and nothing was stolen.

“This is a reminder to ensure your doors are locked,” police said.
