Paramount Pictures at CinemaCon 2026: Everything With Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and More

Paramount-Skydance CEO David Ellison entered the stage at CinemaCon 2026 to present the Paramount Pictures lineup for the coming year. He opened with crediting Jon M. Chu’s sequence of Tom Cruise sitting barefoot at the top of the water tower. The CEO began his presentation enthusiastically by saying, “Paramount lot is alive again”. He made a promise to the audience at CinemaCon (via Puck):

I wanted to look every one of you in the eye, and give you my word, that when we combine with Warner Bros, we will release a combined 30 films per year to distributors.

With this exciting beginning, Ellison committed to having all its releases from Paramount, and potentially Warner Bros in theatres for a minimum of six weeks. Only after the 45-day theatrical window will these releases be available for future digital releases. Ellison further announced exciting projects underway at Paramount, which are as follows:

1 Top Gun: Maverick Sequel

Release Date: TBA

It has been officially announced by Paramount that the superhit movie, Top Gun: Maverick, will get a sequel. Although filming hasn’t begun, as Ellison informed the audience, a script is on the way. The CEO confirmed that Tom Cruise will be returning for the sequel yet again.

Top Gun: Maverick followed the return of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who was one of the Navy’s top aviators. He returned after 30 years to teach students about impossible suicide missions. But he had to confront his past by mentoring Rooster, his deceased best friend’s son. Maverick also had to prove that drones aren’t better than human pilots. It will be exciting to see what follows Maverick’s journey in the sequel to the movie. However, fans of the movie still argue that Top Gun: Maverick is better than F1.

2 Call of Duty Live-Action

Release Date: June 30, 2028

Paramount announced a live-action movie for Call of Duty, a game series established in 2003. The movie will be directed and produced by Peter Berg and written by Taylor Sheridan. Call of Duty has been one of the most popular game series in the U.S.

Along with producer Rob Kostich, Berg revealed how he only wanted to make a live-action with people who would understand and care about the IP as much as they did (via Deadline). Berg further revealed that he feels connected to the special operations community and wanted to do justice to it. He wanted the live-action to be authentic and infuse the movie with a “really big scope”. Fans can know everything about Call of Duty, from the release dates to the cast.

3 Hit Me Hard and Soft

Release Date: May 8, 2026

For this presentation, both James Cameron and Billie Eilish came on stage to talk about the documentary. The trailer of the concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft, has already been seen as being about Billie Eilish’s recent tour for her third album. The two of them unveiled never-before-seen footage of the film as Cameron revealed that he produced the movie with a technology that hadn’t been used before.

Eilish mentioned that she wants all of her fans to feel special, irrespective of whether they have attended the concert or not. She said (via Deadline),

My fans are everything and they all deserve something very special, a VIP experience, whether they can make it to my concerts or not.

The upcoming film is a unique way of a concert experience which hasn’t been done before. Fans can look forward to a special 3D experience.

4 Scary Movie

Release Date: June 5, 2026

Special footage from Scary Movie was shown at CinemaCon 2026, which will be the sixth movie in the horror spoof franchise. The footage sees Ghostface going into a Get Out hypnotism sequence, as well as trick-or-treaters getting dragged into the Weapons‘ scene.

The spoof movie footage also includes The Substance, Smile, Sinners, Longlegs, and many other iconic movies released in the past few years. Anna Faris, Marlon Wayans, and Shawn Wayans take the centre stage at the event. Wayans even lists the number of people who might get offended by this movie and apologizes beforehand. Fans can know all the horror movies, the movie will parody as the Scary Movie trailer leaked online.

5 Street Fighter

Release Date: October 16, 2026

The official trailer for Street Fighter was released at CinemaCon, which is an adaptation of the original video game. The cast is fully star-studded, leading with Noah Centineo, Roman Reigns, Andrew Koji, and Orville Peck. The game was launched in 1987, where players used to have one-on-one battles.

The trailer is jam-packed with humour and action, as there are more celebrities showcasing fights and diverse forms of martial arts. Street Fighter‘s trailer also includes ’80s callbacks, aesthetics, and back-to-back action. The movie seems to come with a lot of heat and a great story. Fans of the video game might want to know everything about the Street Fighter movie, which they can do.

6 Ebenezer – A Christmas Carol

Release Date: November 13, 2026

The first look of Ebenezer – A Christmas Carol is unveiled at CinemaCon, starring Johnny Depp and directed by Ti West. The movie is a new take on Charles Dickens’ 1843 classic, A Christmas Carol. The story has been adapted multiple times into movies and TV shows. It follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly man who is visited by three ghosts of his past, his present, and his future, as Depp brings some of his humor into the character.

The first look at the movie showcases Depp in prosthetics as he is visited by three ghosts who will change his life completely. Paramount deemed it a “bold new twist” as Depp steps on stage to appreciate Alastair Sim, who played Scrooge decades ago. He further praised Ti and said he had made something really special. The movie also stars Rupert Grint, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Andrea Riseborough, Charlie Murphy, Ian McKellen, and Tramell Tillman.

7 Heart of the Beast

Release Date: TBA

Never-before-seen footage of the movie Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt, was also shown at CinemaCon. It is David Ayer’s survival drama where Pitt plays an ex-Special Forces operative who shares a close bond with his dog. The footage shows a plane crash as the dog saves Pitt in the wilderness.

Paramount has not officially announced a release date or shared the footage publicly. However, if Pitt’s filmography is to be of evidence, it will be a heartfelt story that fans will love.

Other Upcoming Movies Announced at CinemaCon

Paramount is also developing several other projects, including Quiet Place III, G.I. Joe, Star Trek, World War Z, Paranormal Activity, Sonic the Hedgehog, Possession, Longlegs, and Jackass. The studio has also lined up its animated releases for the coming year.
