Peel cops uncover Hwy. 407 fraud scheme, charge four men

Peel Regional Police say a fraud scheme linked to more than $100,000 in unpaid Hwy. 407 tolls has been busted. Police say investigators with the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau have not only arrested and charged four men from across the Greater Toronto Area during the probe but also recovered 10 stolen vehicles.

A dozen Jewish teachers have filed human rights complaints against four Ontario school boards and two teachers’ unions, alleging they were discriminated against amid persistent incidents of antisemitism. The group named in their complaint the Toronto District School Board, York Region District School Board, Simcoe County District School Board, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation.
