She allegedly told Griffin and others that she was heir to a syrup fortune worth at least $8 million while also benefiting from family-owned land and profitable oil and gas royalties.

Those claims became increasingly elaborate. At one point, Parker reportedly told family members and friends that she wanted to invest $20 million in real estate and even purchase a ranch for Griffin. Realtors involved in those discussions later described encountering repeated excuses whenever financial verification was requested.

Realtor Renee Harvey Lowe recalls in the documentary, “All of a sudden the money wasn’t coming like it’s supposed to.” Instead of acknowledging that the inheritance did not exist, Parker allegedly blamed family disputes and claimed her mother was preventing her from accessing the funds. That accusation developed into another recurring lie. Parker reportedly portrayed her mother as someone determined to ruin her life and deprive her of her inheritance. Griffin says in the documentary that Parker described her mother as being opposed to their relationship and future children because of inheritance concerns.

The alleged family conflict became even more dramatic when Griffin began receiving hostile text messages. One message reportedly read, “Do you think this is a game, Wade?” while others accused him of not loving Parker. According to documentary interviews, Parker later claimed her mother was responsible for sending those messages. Griffin admits in the documentary that he did not know what to believe at the time, saying, “I didn’t really know what to think. Never dealt with this much at one time this fast.”
