Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains spoilers from One Piece Episode 1167.
Episode 1167 of One Piece did not offer a lot of action, but still, I think it was one of the most important episodes in the Elbaf arc so far. Instead of focusing on major fights, this One Piece episode revealed a lot of important backstories related to Elbaf, especially about the late King Harald and Prince Loki.
Apart from that, the second part of the episode continued the confrontation from the previous episode involving the Knights of God and Loki. Meanwhile, the long-awaited reveal of Shamrock at the end of the episode slowly raised the tension for the upcoming episodes. Let us explore in detail.
Aurust Castle’s Secrets Add New Layers to Elbaf’s Tragedy
In the first half of the episode, we get to see Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Rodo explore the abandoned Aurust Castle. And to be honest, I really think this part did a great job by revealing a lot of crucial details about Elbaf’s past. The ruined halls, giant skeletons, and stories of the battle between Harald and Loki all help portray the scale of the tragedy that still haunts the kingdom.
One of the most interesting reveals here is related to the Ancient Giant bloodline. It is confirmed that both Harald and Loki carried traces of this blood, which helps explain their overwhelming strength. The episode also reveals that Hajrudin is Loki’s half-brother, though he was ostracized due to his mixed heritage rather than being accepted as part of the royal family.
Another aspect I appreciated was how the episode challenged some of the idealized images of Elbaf that fans have held for years. Through Hajrudin’s backstory, we learn that the giant nation has its own prejudices and social divisions despite its reputation for honor and strength.
The revelation that Hajrudin and his mother were looked down upon because of their heritage adds a layer of realism to Elbaf’s society. It also helps explain why Hajrudin’s dream of uniting all giant tribes feels so meaningful, giving his ambitions a stronger emotional foundation than before.
Loki’s Defiance and Shamrock’s Reveal Raise the Stakes
The Underworld scenes are the most exciting parts of the episode. Gunko’s Arrow-Arrow Fruit powers are spectacular, but what stands out the most is the fact that Loki refuses to give up even when he is unable to move properly against her attacks. His constant defiance makes me doubt whether the story behind Harald’s death is really as straightforward as Elbaf believes.

Although his appearance resembles Shanks’s, the most interesting reveal about him was the fact that he is the Commander of the Knights of God and aims to bring Elbaf under World Government control. The revelation makes the conflict feel much bigger than just Elbaf.
Also, I was impressed to see how this episode portrayed God’s Knights as an actual threat. The persistent attack of Gunko on Loki revealed how powerful the organization is. Nevertheless, the appearance of Shamrock took the tension to another level because he already seemed far more intimidating.
Finally, by showing how the World Government plans to bring Elbaf under its control, the episode gives you the sense that the island’s problems are no longer related to its royal family and history. Instead, Elbaf is becoming a key battlefield in the Final Saga.
One Piece Episode 1167 Final Verdict
After watching One Piece Episode 1167, I can confidently say that this episode offered a lot despite the lack of any massive battle scenes. Those who were expecting major battle scenes involving the Knights of God and Loki might find this episode a little bit slow. However, even with a relatively slower pace, every scene here added something unique to the story.

All in all, this was a rewarding episode that carefully sets the stage for much bigger conflicts ahead.
