The first look at Marvel’s third AI android, aside from Ultron and Vision, has been revealed, and she looks absolutely terrifying. The AI known as Jocasta makes her first live-action entry in the upcoming MCU show, and her first look has since gone viral on social media.
Fans were quick to note how terrifying she looks, but with a sense of innocence and wanting to understand the world before raising her fist. Portrayed by British actor T’Nia Miller, here’s what Jocasta will look like in the upcoming VisionQuest series:

Well, although she is a new character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she was hinted at back in 2015 in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Amongst a bundle of AI chips, Tony Stark picks up Friday when Ultron compromises J.A.R.V.I.S. However, for a brief shot, a chip labelled “Jocasta” can be seen lying in the pile. Being an integral character in the comics, here’s who Jocasta is and her role in VisionQuest.
Who is Jocasta in Marvel’s VisionQuest?
Jocasta in a still from Marvel Comics | Credits: Marvel ComicsJocasta is a sentient A.I. (similar to Ultron and Vision) who was originally “built” by Ultron to be his robotic bride. In The Avengers #162 (1977), Ultron transfers the essence and brain patterns of Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) into a metallic body.
Possessing superhuman strength, durability, and enhanced senses, Jocasta aligns herself with Ultron. Ultron, on the other hand, wanted a companion rather than existing alone as a machine. Naturally, with James Spader returning to voice the role of Ultron in VisionQuest, he will be bringing his on-screen companion to the upcoming Marvel series.
However, the character of Jocasta isn’t as simple as it looks since she inherited her brain patterns and life essence from Janet Van Dyne. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be the same once Jocasta makes her appearance.
What Jocasta’s Character Means For Future MCU Projects

Although created by Ultron, she later rebels against the villainous robot since she carries the life essence and brain patterns of Janet Van Dyne.
In the later storylines, Jocasta even allies herself with the Avengers. Naturally, it does seem that Marvel is setting up a new hero while addressing Vision and Ultron’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Expect Jocasta to stick around for a while long after the events of VisionQuest are over.
