Helldivers 2 and VR

SUMMARY

  • Along with Sony's support, Arrowhead Game Studios should develop a VR version of Helldivers 2.
  • The studio will shoot up sales figures by replicating the same chaos in Helldivers 2 VR.
  • After wasting its money on games like Concord, Sony needs to fund a Helldivers 2 VR version.

Despite hitting a rough patch, Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 is one of the most popular games of 2024. The game features an exciting PvE co-op gameplay but Arrowhead can take things to the next level by releasing a VR version of the game.

The game lost a major chunk of its fanbase but it is slowly getting relevant again, so Arrowhead, along with Sony’s support, needs to develop a VR version of the game as it will definitely boost sales and help the studio in popularising the game among a wider audience, VR fans in particular.

Helldivers 2 Needs A VR Version

In the past decade, the gaming industry has changed a lot but in a positive way. With technological advancements, the concept of VR has been normalized around the world. Right now, there are plenty of affordable VR headsets in the market that have allowed players to experience the power of VR even with low-end hardware. Not all fan-favorite video games are on VR at the moment but there is one that needs a VR version right now: Helldivers 2.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter video game that features an action-packed experience, full of chaos and many heart-pumping moments. The game doesn’t allow players to have a complete first-person experience but Arrowhead can take things to the next level by creating a VR version of the game.

Helldivers 2 Will Easily Meet Its Sales Expectations With Helldivers 2 VR

Arrowhead’s latest strategy is indeed popularising Helldivers 2 again but if they wish to sell more copies, they need to create Helldivers 2 VR. This version will certainly sell like hotcakes. This year, Sony has wasted a lot of its funds developing games that turned out to be a disaster, but if they invest in a project like this, it can prove to be a good financial decision.

Things like watching a live 500 KG bomb exploding, coming face-to-face with an Automaton, or standing beneath a Factory Strider would be a crazy experience in Helldivers 2 VR, however, getting ragdolled and flying across the map wouldn’t be a pleasant experience. Nonetheless, Arrowhead definitely needs to consider this idea but this needs proper execution and optimization.

Thanks to some recent updates, Arrowhead has managed to revive Helldivers 2‘s popularity but the game still needs some fresh content that will convince fans to continue playing. Using players’ feedback Arrowhead improved many fan-favorite weapons and Stratagems, making the game how it was when it was initially released.
