Until there is a law that puts crooked politicians in jail, real jail, we will be left with the status quo. Look all around you at the dirty dealing that professional politicians do and get away with because of the apathy of most Canadians. And do not even think about the authorities doing something because at the end of the day, it will be forgotten. Nothing will change except for the people voting in the same dirty sludge time after time.

(It’s our job to hold them accountable at the ballot box, but then incumbency kicks in, many of them become immovable, no matter how incompetent)

AI SPEAKING

When I speak to customer services, I wonder if I am talking to a person or an AI device. Being able to tell may be important. The first indicator is the accent, is it ‘local’ or difficult to understand, which is more likely to be a human as this is a poorly paid job. If you can’t decide then switch to a different language, given that most people can at least say “Je m’appelle Dennis” or an equivalent and see what the response is. AI seems good with many languages. A new approach I have tried is asking an obscure question such as “What colorr is a Dacca banana?” Although since I have used that, I am sure AI now knows it is red. You will have to find your own odd questions. I’d rather be ignored by a person than AI.

(In the not so distant future, it will be AI you speak to and the AI learns and will improve quickly. But what of all the jobs that will be lost by humans? There is no good solution to it)
