Kevin is an animated Prime Video original series created by Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert. The series is loosely based on a real couple’s breakup and the cat who had to cope with it. Voiced by Jason Schwartzman, Kevin is dealing with the separation of his “house owners” as he delves into a world without them.

Who is The Voice Cast of Kevin?

The main voice, Kevin, will be voiced by Schwartzman as previously mentioned, who lent his voice to Isle of Dogs and appeared as Hermes Jones in The French Dispatch. Meanwhile, the character of Dana, one of the house owners, is voiced by co-creator Plaza, who is famous for her various roles on The White Lotus, Agatha All Along, Emily the Criminal, and more.

In the story, Kevin moves into a local pet rescue where his cat roommates include Cupcake, voiced by Whoopi Goldberg, Armando, voiced by John Waters, and Judy, played by Aparna Nancherla. The rescue is run by a human being named Seth, voiced by Gil Ozeri, and his dog, Brandi, played by Amy Sedaris. All of these actors will be series regulars. What is The Plot of Kevin?

Kevin is the housecat, forced to confront life outside the comfort of his home “owners” when they split up. He decides to live without people and moves into a local pet rescue store in Queens. Kevin meets dynamic cats as he navigates life outside people, with misfit animals. This series will focus on Kevin and on what he wants out of his life, with the help of others.

It is a heartwarming and funny story created and executive-produced by Plaza and Wengert. The series will be produced by Titmouse, Evil Hag Productions, and Amazon MGM Studios. The story is inspired by Plaza and her ex, Wengert’s breakup. They had two cats, one of them named Kevin, which is how the show came to be.

Amazon MGM has released a trailer for Kevin, where viewers can get to see the glimpse of the wholesome journey of Kevin. The trailer sets up Kevin’s journey from the get-go, showcasing the breakup and the diverse cast of animals. Kevin initially thinks he cannot live alone without his humans, but he tries to navigate through the difficulty to figure out what he truly wants.

This unique series is reminiscent of people and animals having to go through different and new circumstances in life to learn lessons or reach their goals. Viewers will enjoy the misfits of animals together with Kevin trying to make his own space in the world.
