Kim Kardashian has spent years idolizing Jennifer Lopez, and now she has taken charge of Lopez’s love life. The business mogul is possibly one of the most influential people in the industry. As such, her friendship with other influential people should not come as a surprise, especially given her dating history.

However, the truth is she allegedly does not have as many solid friendships in the entertainment industry, as one would think. Interestingly, though, she has managed to befriend her literal idol of years. Something straight out of a dream for many.

Kardashian has admitted before how she used to try and imitate Jennifer Lopez during her younger years. As such their friendship seems even more special. Truth is, in recent years, it has turned exactly into that, and the evidence of it is the socialite helping JLo find her footing in the dating world once again after a messy divorce from Ben Affleck.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce settlement earlier in January 2025, after filing for it in August. Although the singer-actress was reportedly distraught by the turn of events, she has made peace with it now. In late October, the actress claimed in an interview that after years of trial and error, she has finally realized how good it is to be on her own.

As a result, she is finally focusing on herself and can’t wait for what life brings her next. She also noted that at the time she was not looking for anybody. However, recent reports suggest that the situation might have changed.

An insider claimed to In Touch Weekly, that the long-time fan and idol turned friends are now ready to take on the dating scene by storm. According to them, Kim Kardashian has been a huge pillar of support for the pop star. 

She’s really stepped up to the plate and been not only a shoulder to cry on but also a bona fide cheerleader and a stylist, too.

Jennifer Lopez, though, seems to have agreed to let her friend help her get back on the scene on one condition. The insider claimed that JLo’s condition to the arrangement is, “that they double date.”

Moreover, the insider also claimed that Jennifer Lopez has been loyal and respectful to Affleck during their marriage, but now feels desperate to forget about it. 

She’s desperate to forget about Ben and get over the anguish he’s put her through, and the best way she can do that is by having some no-strings-attached fun with hot young guys.

Another source claimed to People after their divorce was finalized, “The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end.” However, she is in a really good place right now and just feels ready to move on and close this crazy chapter of her life.

The insider claimed to In Touch Weekly, that Kim Kardashian has always put Jennifer Lopez on a huge pedestal. To the point that “she can hardly believe that they’ve become genuine friends.” However, it has taken them years to build such a solid foundation for their friendship, although they have been photographed together on red carpets for years.

According to People, Kim Kardashian confessed to being a huge fan of the singer through a series of videos on her Instagram back in 2018. In it, the SKIMS owner claimed that she has always been a JLo fangirl and would have never imagined this would be her life one day.

Moreover, she noted that she became “obsessed with glam” because of the singer, as such, this was a dream come true moment for her. Lopez, too, once called the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, “a sweetheart”, in an interview with USA Today.

In a 2019 interview with People, Alex Rodriguez, NFL legend and Jennifer Lopez’s ex-beau also commented on their friendship. According to him, Lopez has mentored Kardashian a lot over the years, however, it has blossomed into a solid friendship where both of them heed each other’s advice.

They mentor each other and they have this really beautiful relationship that goes back over a decade and a half, and it’s nice to do anything with Kim and our family.

As a result, it seems like their strong relationship is truly helping Jennifer Lopez to look forward to better days. Ben Affleck and the pop star reportedly remain amicable for the benefit of their children, whom they share with ex-spouses, Jennifer Garner, and Marc Anthony. However, Lopez is finally ready to firmly shut the door on the romantic part of their relationship, and move on with someone else with Kim Kardashian’s help.
